We stayed at Montalay back in Jan this year. The main attraction was the off the beach snorkelling which was great - calm waters and a variety of fish. The resort itself is immaculate with a lovely pool area. Was very impressed with the food tasty and fairly cheap especially if you go for the local dishes. Only drawback was... More

We stayed there for 6 night. We had superior room. Very very nice rooms. Very friendly staff. The restaurant is not cosy, but it will do the job. The snorkeling in the bay is spectacular, excellent, the best in Koh Tao. I will definitely recommend this place. The beach is only good for snorkeling not for swimming.

For me, I think hotel price is reasonable. Food a bit expensive but the taste is good so still acceptable. The price for a la carte is around 120-350 baht but each dish enough for one big guy. Nice cleaning room services but toilet a bit dark as tile decoration is in dark tone >.< Anyway, hotel is far away... More

Me and my partner luckily only had a 2 night stay at Montalay beach. Where do I start, we first got off the ferry and found our way to a very nice taxi man who took us to the resort and charged us 600 baht. Having arrived at the resort we found out Montalay Beach provide their own taxi service... More

took an openwater dive course with a mellow, experienced instructor - Mr Robert ! enjoyed a lot and want to go back. the resort is somewhat a place to hideaway. it is located in a remote area of Ko Tao which is a good place to relax and rest. however, taking a taxi to Sairee (busy night beach) is also... We did our open water suba course at this resort during our Honeymoon. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The dive instructor Robert concentrates on individuals and keeps even the most nervous diver calm. Great experience and great fun. Thanks Robert...

If you want to relax on the beach without the party scene then this is the place. Friendly staff who go beyond their job. Beautiful secluded beach which isn't crowded. Snorkelling in the bay is good and they do the boat trips to Shark Island and around Koh Tao too. They have kayaks and scuba on site. You can hire... More

I've been to a few places on Koh Tao and many other islands in Thailand and this is my best choice for snorkeling and family fun at a reasonable price. The rooms here are new and clean. The food is great compared to a lot of other places on the islands - fresh seafood, good Thai tastes, some international stuff,... More

We stayed here for one night on one of the hill side bungalows. The room was clean and had a very nice view. While it was the most expensive place we stayed at on the island we didn't think it was completely worth it. The snorkeling was alright but did not compare to Hin Wong, also on Koh Tao. Our... More
