Do you know the feeling of being in paradise? Forget it, it was the opposite! The room was very old, the bed... Forget it was full of bugs ( reason why I had to leave earlier), toilets look like jail. We asked to talk with the owners and the answer was " if you want you stay, if you not... More

Spent 3 nights here. Room very basic and not luxury, but you do have a fan AND a mosquito net! Nice staff, good restaurant and great basic huts. The best part of it is that you have your own beach just beneath the bungalow. It's so relaxing and chill. We liked it.

I hesitated to write this review. You get what you pay for and these bungalows were cheap. We didn't even mind the horrible bed (seriously terrible, sunk in the middle, you could feel every spring). We laughed it off. I could live with the mosquito net that had a fair amount of holes in it. The tiny bathroom, the manual... More

Linked with the Alvaro Diving School in Chalok Ban Kao, 150 Baht per person Taxi ride from the pier. We found it by accident and they had a Bungalow available for 600Baht per night, more or less directly at the beach. Cold water and self-flush toilet. Tab Water not drinkable, it’s really bad quality- sorta yellowish colour, probably rust… did... More

The bungalows are really basic but they have a moscito nets and a bathroom. you can sit on the porch or sit in the hammock. there is a little beach and a small bar, which is not too loud. it is a little bay so you feel really remote, even though you just have to walk 10 min to the... More

Too bad it seems nobody cares about this place, that once maybe was a gem on the most beautiful beach, so the bed, the mosquito net, doors, chairs, everything had holes or had a defect in some way. Bed linen were clean, unlike everything else. Restaurant was overpriced, didn't try. Service was nonexistent.

Stayed for five nights in the room with hot water for 600/night. Basically, I didn't expect much. I just wanted a place to sleep at night away from mosquitoes and that was close to the beach. Two absolutes when I travel: if a place doesn't have bed bugs or cockroaches then I'm fine with staying there (have had bad experiences).... More

I was really tentative to book Taraporn because of the reviews here, but it was great! It was so much better than expected. Let me just say that you're always going to find bugs and kind of awful bathrooms in Southeast Asia... If you are sticking at this price point, you're probably not going to get things like a hot... Picture your ideal resort. Clean, relaxing, cozy? At the very least...comfortable? Whatever lovely thing you're picturing, throw out all the good stuff and add cockroaches; THAT's Taraporn Resort (as it is labelled on-site). The LOCATION: Chalok beach, at the south. Cab drivers will likely charge you 300 baht to get there (exorbitant), unless you can talk them down to 200... More

The bungalows are nicely located, 2 steps away from the private beach (small, but enough to take a sunbath or go for a swim/snorkeling). The bungalows are very, very basic. I was completely satiesfied with the bed, the moskito net and the fan. If you are on Koh Tao, you anyway spend as little time inside as possible. However, the... More
