Do NOT stay at save bungalows, if someone puts a gun to your head- take the bullet. It would be a far better experience than staying here. If you want to experience how thai slumdogs live then maybe this is the place for you. There was a dead 10 inch gecko in the toilet that no worker intended to do... More

Good Points: 5 pounds a night (hotels combined), minutes from the pier, its not on the main beach but we liked that because we were in between that and the great snorkling spots on the south of the island. Our booking hadn't come through (it eventually did) but the owner let us stay and was generally very friendly and helpful.... More

Really close to the song serm pier which is great. Wifi doesn't reach all the rooms but works in the breakfast area. We had the most basic room but for 250baht a night which was perfect for what we wanted. You can get nicer rooms for a little bit more. Shared bathroom which is outside was a little annoying but... My friend and I booked save bunglows for four nights around New Year’s time. For 500 THB per day, it was a very comfortable twin sharing room with an attached bathroom and a tiny balcony sitting area. The room did not have AC and we didn’t miss it. The area around was clean and however I did not like the... More

Stayed here for 4 nights, was booked through the crowd we done our diving course with. My advice, avoid. It's about a 10 min walk from the pier, a nightmare with bags as your up and down hills and almost run over by every motor bike. The reception is located in a little shop down the road from bungalows. No... More

No fuss bungalows with clean bathroom and nice porches. I stayed there my last night on the island because it was near the pier. For me the room was fine, spacious bed and working fan. The huts are quite close together so i can imagine people complaining about noise. But no complaints for me!

We'd only booked three nights on Koh Tao and when we came to move on we found the whole island to be FULL. Unlike the gap year types on Sairee beach we didn't have an unlimited budget and the only available room was at Save Bungalows. We reserved a double hut with fan and en suite, cold shower for 600... We stayed in an air-con ensuite with hot shower room for 5 nights. We stayed here because it was so close to where we were doing our PADI Open Water course. The room was basic but more than adequate, the room was really clean - the bathroom was a wet room and the water took a while to drain but... More

We paid for 2 nights and left after one. We actually paid for 2 rooms on that night rather than spend another here! The room was 600 baht a night - way too much. It was actually an alright room and bathroom if it hadn't been for the bed. Literally like sleeping on a rock, worst night I've ever had... More

Budget accommodation and not quite as we'd hoped. Convenient location near our dive school, restaurants and Mae Haad's only beach. No hot water and very smelly drains. Sheets were greasy, even the new ones we requested, we slept on and under towels as the bed was painful and no blanket was available. Curtains were mouldy and the fan was temperamental.... More
