No fuss bungalows with clean bathroom and nice porches. I stayed there my last night on the island because it was near the pier. For me the room was fine, spacious bed and working fan. The huts are quite close together so i can imagine people complaining about noise. But no complaints for me!

We'd only booked three nights on Koh Tao and when we came to move on we found the whole island to be FULL. Unlike the gap year types on Sairee beach we didn't have an unlimited budget and the only available room was at Save Bungalows. We reserved a double hut with fan and en suite, cold shower for 600... We stayed in an air-con ensuite with hot shower room for 5 nights. We stayed here because it was so close to where we were doing our PADI Open Water course. The room was basic but more than adequate, the room was really clean - the bathroom was a wet room and the water took a while to drain but... More

We paid for 2 nights and left after one. We actually paid for 2 rooms on that night rather than spend another here! The room was 600 baht a night - way too much. It was actually an alright room and bathroom if it hadn't been for the bed. Literally like sleeping on a rock, worst night I've ever had... More

Budget accommodation and not quite as we'd hoped. Convenient location near our dive school, restaurants and Mae Haad's only beach. No hot water and very smelly drains. Sheets were greasy, even the new ones we requested, we slept on and under towels as the bed was painful and no blanket was available. Curtains were mouldy and the fan was temperamental.... More

Good location, 5minutes to the pier by walk.when we arrived a rude woman was at the restaurant, we followed her till the shop where the other woman quite sympathetic did our check in.we booked via agoda, she didn't have any confirmation so it took time. Room with fan working correctly.twin bed, the covers of the matresses and pillow are ideal... More

This was by far the worst place I stayed in Thailand. Admittedly I arrived on Koh Tao without anywhere booked, and it was only 250 baht a night, but even so it was the worst bedroom I have ever slept in. The room was effectively the basement of another couple's bungalow room so in the morning all you could hear... More

Avoid, the worst place we've stayed in Thailand. I don't mind roughing it if I'm not paying much. However, for 1000 baht a night this was terrible and it is surely a greedy owner who overcharges but doesn't provide the service. The bad: - we arrived and our bed was slept in/dirty/ bin full/ thousands of ants everywhere/ people's stuff... More

On the first night, we had to stay in the basement room which was alright, but I wanted to move the next day because I didn't want to stay in the basement. But, they offered us the ground room and we stayed another 3 nights. The rooms were (hired 2 rooms) big enough with simple facilities and tidy. Cold shower... More

We stayed here as part of our booking at Planet Scuba so it was paid for as part of package and so not sure about price/value. We liked having our own independent accommodation which meant less noise. Bungalow was a twin room with a spacious bathroom/shower. We had a nice veranda outside to sit on and plenty of room for...
