The rooms are basic & clean but a bit out of the way. There was also damp in the rooms too which was y ideal. Also those steps are a pain to get up and you can still here some of the partying on the beach. Not an ideal choice, but if you want that sort of thing then stay... More

It's an ok hotel - rooms had fans and the bathroom was ok. It's one of the furthest away from the main strip so you have a better chance of a half decent nights sleep if needed. However the walk up to the guesthouse is tiring. Very cheap so worth it if you are on a budget

I've stayed here 3 times on my travels to Phi Phi, due to the great views. It's worth the struggle up the stairs to the very top, in order to get the panoramic sight of mountains, palm trees and sea to your left and right. I'm always travelling on a budget so people who want luxury should go some place... More

I stayed at Uphill Cottage with my partner in Jan '14 for a week. We were backpacking around Thailand, so had no real misconceptions about what we would find for our budget on Phi Phi. Firstly, the plus sides. The staff were friendly, laundry service was reliable and the room was cleaned every two days with fresh towels provided. The... More

I don't understand why this place was recommended by Lonely Planet. Expensive, bad staff, ants, awfyl room, no warm water, holes in walls (to invite mord insects?), no furniture, almpst no light, umcomfortable "stairs" to the bungalow. We've stayed in 14. For this price, room was AWFUL.

This resort has had its share of negative reviews. To all of these, I say only one thing - if you want five star, book five star. Family-run, this place has a very private and intimate feel to it. The fact that you are assigned your own little bungalow was just fab for us, and we were made to feel... More

We knew it was far from the port, we were prepared for the stairs, but oh boy did this place just constantly let itself down. We have stayed in several hotels/apts so far and the reception staff in everyone have been nothing but fantastic.... Until we got here. The lady was nonchalant and uninterested in helping or answering any questions.... More

I learned a lesson about staying in KPP. You need to pay more for a hotel, and you can get a really nice one for not too much more than I paid for this place and probably with a great view. I purchased a room in this place for two nights on a major Thai web seller of hotels. When... More

Uphill was ok...actually on the lower end of ok. The Wifi is TERRIBLE and the staff are not particularly friendly. If you are going to stay here ask for a "separate bungalow" as the "bungalows" are joined wall to wall. It was hot and noisy even with the aircon on (which barely cooled at all). Also if you do decide... More
