Lot's of effort spent to the garden and surraundings which is quite unecessary since Tonsai bay is not a peaceful or beautiful place to spend time. Better to look for a hotel which is cheaper. This seemed a bit overpriced. We used the hotel only to sleep and went to spend our day to other islands and beaches which were... More

Before I start, the whole of Phi Phi is over crowded, too many boats on both main beaches, which create a greasy oily film on the water. Too many shops selling Tshirts and vests, and tatty souvenirs. I visited approx 7 years ago, and the island has gone down hill. Myself and wife booked into this place for 3 nights... More

We booked Mama Beach for 5 nights in early 2014 with the hope that the construction would be completed by our stay in Jan 2015. As the trip got closer, I considered changing hotel as I could see that the building work ongoing but we decided to keep our booking. For anyone who says the construction is not a problem,... More

We arrived around 4 pm at the hotel . This was the only hotel we booked a little bit expensive since it was rated as #2 and we wanted to relax . When we arrived a french lady gave us all the information needed and then we headed to our rooms . Once we opened our balcony door we found... More

We stayed at Mama Beach as part of our honeymoon over Christmas (we are a gay male couple). Koh Phi Phi was filled with young Europeans partying hard. This hotel is as far from the partying as possible - about a 15 minute walk, making this one of the quieter and relaxing places on the island. The rooms are clean,... More

Whilst the staff are super nice and there is nothing more they could do, it's impossible to relax with construction sites on either side (and behind) running around the clock. Barges are moored metres from beach beds with builders materials whilst bulldozers, diggers and cranes operate around the clock. Builders work within a few metres of guest rooms. I understand... We stayed at Mama's in October of this year. When we arrived we were placed in a room on the second floor and this was rigt next to the construction. We complained and were accommadated in a lovely room on the ground floor. The staff were friendly and polite and we grew fond of the "French Lady" during our stay.... More

We spent 3 nights here and we're very happy. I was worried after reading recent reviews about the construction but upon arriving we realised there is construction all over Phi Phi. Yes there is construction all around the hotel but it's not too noisy and you tune it out. Very clean rooms, friendly service, tucked away from the hustle and... More

My friend and I stayed here in November and loved it. Yes, there was construction going on, but the noise stopped well before night time and never interfered with us trying to sleep. When we got off the ferry, a staff member was there to take our luggage to the hotel. It's a 5 min walk from the pier, and... More
