Maya Bay is a beautiful place, and I - a thirteen year old, who often doesn't appreciate these sorts of things, was agape at the landscape. The Sleepaboard boat is the only way to see it. If you want to go on a long-tail tour, it will take you at high tourist times, if its bad weather force you to... More

I don't write many reviews. In fact, this may be my first. I went to Thailand with my girlfriend earlier this year and thought we would do something slightly different to the island speedboat tour. The itinerary was very well thought out. We snorkelled with tropical fish at the Pirate Cave, which in itself was breathtaking. Moved on to Maya... More

Most amazing trip ever! Met the most friendly staff who made our trip great. Don't understand the review that says the staff were bad at all! Did snorkelling see. Hundreds of fish all around us. Headed to "the beach" and waited for all the crowds disappear - best feeling ever! CYA! And then relaxed all night with the tastiest food... More

The best trip so far! The cost is high 3000baht (June 2014) but you get so much in return! We didn't really know what it was going to be like, but 100% worthwhile! We had a great group of 17 people. The boat stops at a good snorkling bay, where we took a kayak right in to this large lagoon,... More

I would go as far as to say that the Maya Bay Sleepaboard was the highlight of my 3 week trip to Thailand! My boyfriend and I loved the opportunity to have 'The Beach' largely to ourselves without lots of other tourists; the friendly Thai staff and their amazing food, music and games; snorkelling with incredible tropical fish; and jumping... I should start this review by saying that we did not actually end up doing the sleep aboard tour, so we cannot comment on that side of the experience. With that having been said, it was the manner in which the staff dealt with us that made us decide to give this trip a poor rating. We were booked to... More

The sleep aboard tour was amazing, I will definitely book this tour again on my next trip to Thailand. Our guide/ host was very friendly! I was able to enjoy maya bay without having all the day visitors blocking the beautiful breathtaking view. The food they provide was very tasty too.

This trip was fantastic. We took our two young children (aged 4 and 5) and they are still talking about it! A priceless experience. Fantastic scenery, plenty of swimming and snorkelling. "Captain Aaron" was a great tour guide. The boat is not a luxury yacht, but it is comfortable enough, the food is fine, and the experience of this trip... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Each year hundreds of thousands of day-tripping tourists converge on Maya Bay – the small tropical island where the movie The Beach (starring Leonardo DiCaprio) was filmed. Tourists arrive by sailboats, speedboats and longtails – all hell bent on capturing that perfect photo of paradise. It can be a disappointing experience for many, however, there’s now another option – the Maya Bay Sleep Aboard tour.Join other like-minded travellers for an unforgettable overnight experience you will recall with a smile for the rest of your life. The journey begins at Phi Phi Don, where the Maya Bay Sleep Aboard office is located. Store your luggage for free at the office and prepare your overnight bag. Bring your swimwear, towel, mosquito spray, camera and of course your sense of adventure. On the way to Maya Bay, the boat will make a stop outside the Viking Caves, followed soon after by a snorkeling, swimming and kayaking session. .We serve a breakfast back on the boat which consists of coffee, tea, eggs and toast. After breakfast there’s an opportunity to take a quick swim and then it’s time to head back to Phi Phi Don. We arrive back by 10am and while most people are tired the majority just can’t stop smiling and raving about their night.Remember you are in the land of smiles… bring along your Mai Pen Rai (no problem in Thai) attitude and you are sure to have an amazing time. Lasting friendships have been forged, unforgettable memories made, and great times had. ... more   less
