If you're after a healing retreat, this is amongst the best (if not *the* best) in the world. The accommodation features everything from boutique-Thai style bungalows, to all-enclosed unit suitable for a small family. You have the selection of an exotic love-pad nestled up in the mountains, overlooking the ocean, with sea breezes, a mini-bar and hammock on the balcony;... More

So, I thought I'd love the Sanctuary....a hippyish haven, with no roads, no traffic noise, and some upmarket touches. But...I have to say while I applaud it for some things, it just didn't win me over. On the plus side, I was impressed by the fact that it's kept a range of different types of accommodation at a range of... More

This attitude has been a killer for many entreprises and The Sanctuary is taking a big risk by remaining a sort of "high end hippy haven". There are plenty of positive things to mention: friendly staff, a lovely secluded beach (except when the wind blows junk in), a nice open air restaurant with a wide variety of choices, especially for... I came here with my partner and mother with the intention of staying 4 nights and doing the yoga courses. My mother came last year and enjoyed it. It was the part of my month in Thailand that I was most looking forward to. The rooms are very expensive and very basic, really not worth the silly price tag. Unfortunately... More

Hi Jodie Wankenobi Thanks for taking time to jot down a few words about our resort, and sorry that you feel like this . I do remember meeting and greeting your family on that busy Thursday night. I note that you arrived late ( after 730 pm) into the Sanctuary without a reservation during the busiest month of the year,... More

For decades I've travelled the world and seen hundreds of hotels and other places to stay. The Sanctuary is different, so very special. My first visit there was a few years ago, it just blew me away. Generally I don't believe in going back, the world is a big place and there are new experiences waiting around the door. The... More

There are two reasons I wouldn't visit The Sanctuary again - 1. You can only reach it by a small wooden boat crossing some very rough seas. They told us in advance that this costs 300 bahts, but it turns out it only costs that if there are at least 5 people in the boat. So basically it costs 1500... More

Dear Isolated. Thanks for your review and sorry that your journey out of here was a difficult one for you. We are guests in Thailand and we respect our relationship with the local Thai People who have lived on our bay all their lives. For 20+ years they have run the transportation services from this bay - the same family.... More

We have a wonderful stay at this resort. Amazing place with beautiful beach. Staffs are helpful. Our room is huge, cozy, clean and has nice view. Food at the restaurant is average. Breakfast is nice with various choices. This resort is a good place to stay away from busy life.

An amazing place. Words are not enough to describe this place. Me and my partner came to the Sanctuary on a 2 week holiday, as we wanted to do some detox and proper relaxation. I was very pleased that I could practice Pilates and my partner his Yoga. Ideal for us. But there was much more to that. The atmosphere... More
