We spent 10 days at the Ancient Realm hotel in November. Some positive and some negative comments...... Kantiang Bay is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches we've been to. We very much enjoyed swimming there, the view, and walking the beach, we collected a good assortment of shells. We observed a group of a couple dozen monkeys coming out... More

My brother and I stayed there in April 2014. The resort had by far the most friendly atmosphere we have ever experienced. David was a lovely host, very helpful and informative. He gave us excellent recommendations as to where to go to eat, drink, ride a bike to etc.. David told us more about the island than you could find... More

Generally, this is a cute little resort, which is hosted by some westerners. They have beautiful room and a little garden, but you can not enjoy the sea and beach from the resort. Breakfast is acceptable. It is not buffet but some ordered food. The worst thing is a nearby mosque. There will be prey at 5:00am. Because the resort... More

My parents, boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and love it! David and his dog greeted us upon arrival and walked us to the beach for lunch. Rooms done in lovely thai style and very spacious and clean. Very relaxing place to stay as quite quiet although there are lovely restaurants on the road or along the blissfully... More

Amidst our stay in Chiang Mai, my wife had been researching for our accommodations in Ko Lanta. She found this place on TripAdvisor and asked me to look at booking it based in positive reviews. Not only does it agree with our preferred beach atmosphere but also our budget. After figuring out the tricky booking system, I selected our dates... More

Husband and I loved this place and having breakfast with George by the pool. Sunset drinks With Glen and David with George was a lovely end to day. Mosque only goes at 5am once and we were only there once more when it happened during day. Beach was great ànd so close to us. Bed was comfortable and place was... More

We stayed at Ancient Realm during low season this. Year. David is amazing. The nicest kind of person. Helpful, and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean and more than adequate, with a TV and air-con. The restaurant was good, though they are redoing it, so it should be even better. And early morning rice soup is a must on the porch.... More

Ancient realms resort and spa felt like its own little world on an island that really feels like its own little world. Koh Lanta is an incredible place that deserves to be a part of any Thailand itinerary. The island has something for everyone and is not overrun by tourists like many islands in southern thailand. You dont have to... More

Pro's: - Decent room - Good fresh breakfast whenever you want - Kantiang bay, nice big beach which never gets crowded, cool hippie-ish bar (the why not bar) - Hospitality and good services from David, and the dog Georgie made us feel like home. Con's: - All I can think of is the aircon which is quite weak as it... More

We booked to stay here for a week in August with our 4yrs old daughter. The resort is fine, lacking a little maintenance here and there, but generally ok. However, when we got there we were charged the price of a full extra bed at 300 baht per night extra for pir daughter, which is weird because we picked a... More
