First some background this is not a five star resort - it comprises 7 bungalows beachside. No pool, restaurant, concierge, gym, etc. Owners speak limited English. There are two categories of room - deluxe rooms are the 3 bigger rooms and the superior/standard rooms are more cosy. It's located towards the South of the island so relatively far from the... More

This hotel was a great find. It only had 10 rooms and no reception or bar but the location overlooking the beach was to die for. The best rooms were the deluxe rooms which were large and finished to a high standard and very clean. The balcony area overlooked the beach and Mr Pong the owner served your breakfast there... More

We stayed here in two rooms at the end of january and we loved it so much, we were sad when it came to the point to leave. Wonderful bungalows right at the beach. The nicest owner Mr. Pong we ever met, and awsome breakfast on our terrasse every single day. Mr. Pong even took me for free to town... More

We liked Klong Nin beach a lot. Baan Rim Lay is probably the best value for money place you can stay. Mr. Pong provides you perfect service and helps you with all your questions. Furthermore we think that this is the best part of the beach! As normal in Thailand the walls are a little to thin and you can... More

We had a hard time choosing a place to stay in Koh Lanta because there are so many places. We rely pretty heavily on Trip Advisor for reviews and this one deserves its great rating. First of all, there are very few places right on the beach that actually have a patio looking straight onto the beach. Then on top... More

We had originally booked our stay for 4 nights and had planned to head up to the Krabi area for 3 more nights before heading to Bangkok, but once we got here we developed a little crush on Lanta and knew we had to stay here instead. Of course Mr. Pong is fully booked so we had to find somewhere... More

Exceptional service and a beautiful and extremely convenient location! We spent 10 days here and loved it. Tons of cool beach restaurants nearby (don't bother wearing shoes!), 7eleven round the corner, massage places etc. However, its very quiet and at night we just heard the waves apart from the occasional music from a distance and the odd tuktuk passing by... Baan Rim Lay is located at Klong Nin Beach. Very chilling atmosphere not to much crowded and absolutely worth to visit. Upon arrival we got a excellent hospitality. Family Pong make it feel like you're visiting friends instead of paying for a Accomodation. The rooms are very clean and housekeeping is doing a excellent job. Please be aware that basic... More

We stayed in b2 which is the deluxe and it was a lovely room, great size and is cleaned to a high standard daily. You choose your breakfast the night before and mr pong serves it to you on your private terrace at your chosen time. Mr and mrs pong are so friendly and helpful we booked trips through them... More

I visited Baan Rim Lay in Nov 2013. Imagine waking up in your apartment and with your eyes still partially closed walking down to a beach just few steps, having a quick swim in the sea and some breakfast. Without crowds(an I mean it, I had an impression that there is about 5 persons per 100 meters of the beach),... More
