Where do I begin! As written in the description, this hostel is not fancy so it may not be for everyone. If you're really into your creature comforts then maybe look elsewhere. However, as a young solo traveller looking to meet people, have adventures and relax, this place was ideal. I stayed here in off season so the island was... More

Went to Ko Lanta expecting to stay two nights but ended up there for five. This place is really great. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very chill and the other guests there when I was were the friendliest of people. Short walk to the beach and main road. Had my own room for... More

We stayed there for 3 days, and ask to stay one more and the owner said 99% sure yes, and the next day just in check out time, she asked us to leave because there was a booking. We never cooked in the bamboo, actually we never cooked, we used the common room to eat noodles. And we never threw... More

Please stop creating new names and refer to our original management response in regards to your misunderstandings and claims. Our policies are clear and explained to every guest- perhaps there was a language issue involved. Enjoy the rest of your travels- sorry you lost the World Cup :( More

Stayed there for a week, had a really great time. Cheap booze, very friendly people, beach just nearby, cheap and good restaurants all around. And in bonus if you want to get a tatoo you can get a very nice one with traditionnal bamboo tattooing technique. I would highly recommend this place.

The place was really nice but the owner didn't let us eat our own food inside , not even coffee, she wanted us to buy her everything. We couldn't cook there, not even clean our dishes there, she didn't let us use the fan in the common area because "it was dangerous". The result she kicked us out

We are not a campsite. Cooking in your bamboo and grass hut is dangerous and would attract ants for the next people in there. Our kitchen is for our restaurant, not guests. We had to clean up your noodle mess in our bathroom sinks everyday. We found u rummaging around behind our reception area (claiming to be looking to plug... More

When I arrived on koh lanta and I had no idea where to go for a hostel. So I asked a tuk-tuk driver to drive me to a cheap place. It's like that I discovered one of my best hostel during my trip all around southeast Asia. Don't expect to have a 5 stars hotel when you go there, instead... More

This place is seriously cool. Beds are cheap and the atmosphere is awesome! I stayed here for 2 nights then got a private bungalow a stones throw from the beach. If you are travelling solo it is the perfect place to meet people. Hang out by the bar in the evenings and enjoy a few beers with friendly people from... More

I stayed here for around a week and loved every minute of it. I was recovering from a broken ankle and a motorbike accident (separate incidents) and they were some of the most lovely, helpful people I have met in Thailand. Do not miss out on a great experience, go visit

Lets start with the fact that I show up and im immediately welcomed by Marilyn, with a huge smile on her face, who is 50 years old, in denim shorts and a bikini top, with a beautiful tattoo on her chest/boob... and I immediately knew I was going to love this place. As i was welcomed in and shown around... More

My first visit to Chill Out House was in november 2013 and my second has been in february 2014. This place is as amazing as it looks (check out the Youtube videos as well!). You step inside and immediately feel welcome. The owners, Arm and Jessie, and their adorable baby Jaydon are just wonderful and lovely (as well as the... More
