Service at Villa Retreat, headed by the very affable and capable GM, Mr. Remington, is excellent. The food is good, quantities are ample, but the tea and coffee could be served in larger cups. Rooms are very average, quite small, the ones in the old block are accessed after climbing up a steep flight of stairs, not suitable for older... More

First of all...the location is very good! A place to rejuvenate urself! But please be careful about the room selection because the views are only based upon the location of the window and their tariff increases as per the views ( basically the windows! )....Wifi is only available at the restaurant..the most important advantage is that the resort is located... We had high expectations from this hotel after reading about it on various forums and it did live upto them all! You can't beat the location, it's a 5 min walk to the lake (through Noyce Road) or the 7 point crossing (which is where all the action it happening). Located right across Bryant Park and at the entrance of... More

Stayed in august 2014. The rooms are small but good enough for a family of 4 (2 children). The view from the restaurant is awesome .The quality of food is good but quantity is meagre so much so that it burns a hole in your pocket. The hotel is centrally located , very close to the lake and city centre.... More

Villa Retreat is just an amazing place to enjoy Kodaikanal. The view point at Villa Retreat has the best view of the whole valley. Located just next to the Coaker's Walk and a stone's throw from the Bryant Park, everything about this place is just wonderful. The rooms, the food and the staff are all amazing and the experience of an... More

Stayed in Aug 2014 for 2 days in standard room. Room as such is small ,but have taken care of all requirement of a family traveler. The room is close to a small street so some what noisy in the day time..doesn't matter as we are not going to be in the room. The ambiance as such is awesome. The... More

This Hotel is a complete AVOID, period. The Classic Mini room advertised on the site (http://www.villaretreat.com/kodaikanal/facilities.asp) is not the one offered. A very small room and an attached bathroom so small that no hotel would even offer such room. Sincerely request the management to strike of the Classic Mini room from their offerings. At 4000 Rs a night this is... More

I visited Kodaikanal in july 2014, booked deluxe suite (valley view) in this resort. It has amazing view. Right out of your room window, you can see beautiful valley. Also there is a small garden where you can have breakfast and lunch and enjoy the mesmerizing valley :) Staff is very polite and will cater to your every need. Rooms... More

Location Adjacent to Coakers Walk. Food Food was OK! Restaurant people were friendly and helpful! View No view or privacy if you are staying in standard rooms. Choose valley view rooms if possible. If not, there is no point staying at this place! Cleanliness Not that clean. In fact, they cleaned our rooms just after we checked in.
