This is a beautiful hotel and parts are still inhabited by the original owners, ie when it was a castle and not a hotel. It has been lovingly restored and converted to a hotel with a pool, air-conditioning and wifi. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent, we ate dinner by the pool... What a welcome! We left the desert behind to be greeted with music into this tranquil and beautiful setting. The family/owners have carefully blended old and new, so that comfort and beauty are not compromised. We were there out of season and were the only guests. It was magical. The pool was definitely a drawcard as the temperatures were in... More

An outstanding stay. We arrived late at night but we're still welcomed with garlands and a drummer. A late night supper beside the pool completed the welcome. All during our stay we were treated with great kindness and nothing was too much trouble. The pool was great, the rooms large, well furnished and air conditioned. An excellent stay with so... More

Friendly family hospitality is the hallmark of this excellent heritage listed boutique hotel in the Chittorgarh countryside. Beautiful gardens and an elegant pool complete with heritage sculpture ensure a comfortable stay even in the hottest months. Traditional home-cooking satisfies the palate and the architecture soothe the soul. The staff and friendly and unobtrusive.

After visiting the Fort in Chittorgarh we arrived at the Castle and with a musical greeting we ventured through the tall gates to view a splendid castle being shared by a respected Rajput family. Dining by the swimming pool on homegrown vegetables under the moonlight is breathtaking. An early morning meander through a friendly village completes a fabulous 'time out'... More

Firstly, hotel options in Chittorgarh seem to be severely limited. We had a reservation at Pratap Palace, owned by the same management as Castle Bijaipur. But when we arrived we were told that some guests had not checked out, and also there was a large, noisy group in residence that we might be uncomfortable with. So they offered us a... More

After a long drive we arrived here to be met by garlands and music, but I am afraid that is where the hospitality ended. While the 'castle' could have been spectacular with a good team behind it, it lacked in so much. Good things - the room was spacious, decor good and to sit on a window seat in the... More

We stayed as part of a large group of family and friends and had an unforgettable experience. Though we arrived late at night (10pm), we were still welcomed with garlands and drummers - and dinner awaited us. This typifies the special touch the Castle lavishes on its guests. Over the next 6 days, we were made to feel we were... More

The hotel itself was located in place nowhere to anywhere, but it is a real castle, with rooms that are old but spacious. There are many place one can explore even inside the hotel. The hotel was well maintained. Breakfast was OK, but serves its purpose. Staff was helpful, but had room for improvement. Wifi was only available in the... More

Another heritage hotel located in a retrofitted fort and stately estate. The room that we had was excellent - lots of space with a very good bathroom facilities. The swimming pool was excellent with good landscaping. The breakfast that we were offered as individual travellers was very marginal. We did have an excellent evening jeep trip out into some of...
