2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

After a long drive we arrived here to be met by garlands and music, but I am afraid that is where the hospitality ended. While the 'castle' could have been spectacular with a good team behind it, it lacked in so much. Good things - the room was spacious, decor good and to sit on a window seat in the... More

We stayed as part of a large group of family and friends and had an unforgettable experience. Though we arrived late at night (10pm), we were still welcomed with garlands and drummers - and dinner awaited us. This typifies the special touch the Castle lavishes on its guests. Over the next 6 days, we were made to feel we were... More

The hotel itself was located in place nowhere to anywhere, but it is a real castle, with rooms that are old but spacious. There are many place one can explore even inside the hotel. The hotel was well maintained. Breakfast was OK, but serves its purpose. Staff was helpful, but had room for improvement. Wifi was only available in the... More

Another heritage hotel located in a retrofitted fort and stately estate. The room that we had was excellent - lots of space with a very good bathroom facilities. The swimming pool was excellent with good landscaping. The breakfast that we were offered as individual travellers was very marginal. We did have an excellent evening jeep trip out into some of... The rooms here are all very different, so if you’re concerned, ask to see your room first. Some had tea/coffee making facilities and a safe, ours didn’t. However it was a lovely big room with comfortable beds and a big bathroom and everything was very clean. It is set in lovely grounds and is within walking distance to some shops.... More

After a long journey to get here, your arrival is greeted with drums and garlands but it becomes a bit flat after that. The castle and grounds are amazing and the rooms are good. Unfortunately the small things are missing - Like any sort of information about the history of the place, which I'm sure would be really interesting. Like... More

A beautiful, surprising, special place Stayed as part of a horse riding holiday in Rajasthan which was organised from the Castle and started and finished here. The welcome was wonderful, the rooms so characterful, the people (including the Lord himself) friendly and helpful, and the horses and the riding were excellent. If you get the chance for a night or... More

This is a nice property in the inetriors of Chittorgarh. People who want a holiday free from any kind of noise & air pollution should visit the place. Its a old haveli converted into the hotel & is still occupied by the royal family living there. The interiors, room decor, bathrooms are clean, nicely done with modern amenities. The sit... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2015

We have nothing much to add to the other favourable (enthusiastic) reviews, but are simply posting to support them. I could add that while it is a bit off the beaten track, it is well worth the drive. Also, Chittorgargh Fort needs probably a day to do it justice, and this would be beautiful place to base yourself for a... More

This stay is like no other....it transports you back in time, to a place where maharajas use to live. We arrived on 4 March at the castle gates only to be greeted in 'maharaja' style of course, to the beat of Indian drums, a garland of fresh flowers and lots of smiles. That had set the tone of our 10... More
