Travelled to begu on 30th november with my wife, and believe me it was the most unique experience. A beautifully restored five villa fort ,which takes you back to aristocratic lifestyle of kings. Owner's son ajay singh is a wonderful person and a warm host ,he took every effort to provide us a memorable stay. Its not like a conventional... More

Fort Begu is not on the mainstream traveller's itinerary but anyone who makes the effort to stay there will be truly rewarded. The fort tells its own story of Indian aristocracy and supreme effort to provide a unique travel experience. All staff are committed to an exceedingly high standard of hospitality. This is not a hotel - it is a... More

How will we ever forget our unique and magical stay at Fort Begu, in the company of such refined and welcoming hosts as Rawal Sawai Hari Singh and his son Ajay? Steeped in history, which the owners were enthusiastic to share, we felt the past unveil before our eyes (literally, when water was splashed to reveal until recently-hidden wall paintings).... More

My first stay at Fort Begu, a year ago, was just too short. And the experience already then was second to none. That's the reason why I deceided to come back; this time for three nights. Also this second stay provided me with such a unique experience that I think I have become a "Begu-addict"... - I'll certainly be back... More

At Fort Begu one really feels like a guest in an aristocratic home. From the moment of our arrival we were extremely well looked after and treated almost like royalty. Ajay Raj Singh, the son of the owner, was a great host, very attentive but relaxed. The staff were doing their utmost, the service was excellent, at moments we found... More

This is one of the most romantic Palace Hotels in Rajasthan. If you want pristine, decorated top to bottom al-la 5 star International standards, this is not for you! There is no swimming pool, Television etc. but believe me, you won’t miss it. However, if you want to experience a truly romantic, 15th century, off the beaten track Palace, don’t... More

"A man travels the world in search of what he needs, ONLY to return home to find it!!" There are lodges, inns, resorts, hovels, palaces, hotels, luxury hotels, super luxury hotels and then there is Fort Begu. Nothing across the globe comes close to the LIVING FORT! A time travel of 600+ years, 75+ generations, a story of sacrifice, wealth,... More

From the moment you arrive at the Fort and get a fantastic welcome from the family, this is an all-consuming helter-skelter of an experience. We were the only guests there (it was the off-season) so we were very well looked after and got a lot of attention! The Fort/Palace is an amazing set of buildings, with surprises (mostly welcome!) at... More

We had a wonderful 2 nights with Mr.Singh and his son Ajay Raj in their family home. The Fort is in dis-repair and is currently being restored slowly to its former glory. The suites they have restored are lovely with all amenities, very comfortable, you will be sleeping in history ! as the fort is 15th century. The food and... More

Second visit. The food, service and total experience were even better than last time. Fort Begu is a jewel. The building is a dream and the rooms are large, comfortable and totally Rajasthan. Meals are delicious. We had a picnic by a lake with palm trees growing in the water, trips in the forest to see wild life. Day trip... More
