A perfect resort in the nature's lap. I liked Hiking to near by hill, a little walk to the spice garden and Yoga session. Overall food and hospitality was great. :) Thank you Harish, Mahesh and Vijayan(Hiking guide). You people made my trip. :)

We visited this place in 2nd week of April. After travelling for almost 3 hours from Aluva railway station...completely exhausted..when we reached Kaivalyam..we were completely recharged with the beauty of the location.... There are total 8 rooms and 2 tree house in the property...view from rooms are amazing..altough..I feel top floor rooms might have better view(I stayed in ground floor)..... More

This retreat is a little out of Munnar, but you will barely notice because the service and hospitality is so slick. I arrived very late on my check in date after a bumpy bus ride, and was immediately given a very warm welcome with chai and dinner. The food here was excellent, all cooked fresh each day using produce from... More

A special place that pumps in positive energy into you, nested right at nature's belly with very comfortable very clean accommodation, surrounded by the aromic scent of spices, an airy yoga hall in the woods where you can 'let go' of everything with the flow of peace meditative energy, and finally smiling faces all around that pamper you with food... This is a fantastic place to unwind and experience the beauty of the Munnar hills. The rooms are beautiful, tasteful and clean and with balconies overlooking the gardens. There are also two treehouses which look great - perfect for honeymooners. The place offers a range of activities. We went on the two-hour guided spice walk to the river which was... More

Lovely rooms with serene and verdant views but generally we found the atmosphere just too subdued, and yes I know its listed as a retreat, but this doesn't have to mean joyless, there can be a quiet, relaxed joy, but something just seemed to be lacking......... Also from reading previous reviews we were really looking forward to the food but... More

We only had two days / 1 night to stay at Kaivalayam Retreat and I wish we could have had stayed longer. Harish and his staff were incredibly accommodating as soon as we arrived. As it is hidden away from the main road, on arrival they will come and pick you up in a jeep to take you down the... More

Serene ambience with very good hospitality and good organic food, Kaivalyam retreat cottage was a memorable pleasant experience for our whole family that included my old age parents and young kids. Kids enjoyed very much the long walk though the track paths through various kinds of plantations (cardamom, chilli, coffee etc etc). The ride from the main road to the... More

I stayed at Kaivalyam Retreat for 2 night, wish it was more, I will be back! I cant highly recommend this place enough. After staying in a few so called '5 star accomadation' in India, where the actual standard was more like 3 star. Kaivalyam Retreat standards are way above the 5 stay places I stayed in. The owners have... More

My wife and I visited Munnar at the fag end of our absolutely amazing 15-day Kerala travels. Honestly, we were a tad exhausted and had heard Munnar was quite touristy, so we weren't expecting (to do) much. But our arrival at Kaivalyam seemed to give us renewed energy. The place is 7 km away from the busyness of Munnar, and... More
