While the bus from Kochi can be harrowing (we took a taxi back), the retreat is a quiet, relaxing relief in a spice plantation. We stopped here for the weekend for a calm and calming stay. The food is strictly vegetarian (no eggs either), but the food was fine and good sized portions. The owner gives a yoga class most... More

Stayed there two nights a week back. It is a fairly new property with well designed clean rooms and bathroom. I think the room quality and sleep quality is as good as any top hotel. The owner himself is a yoga expert and is so humble. He showed us to the room himself.... He even lugged our luggage in and... More

We had an excellent two night stay at the Kaivalyam Retreat. It was so private, relaxing and a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the town. It was a family get together and we all had a wonderful time. The food was spectacular, very fresh and tasted good. They do not serve buffet for breakfast, however the breakfast... More

My wife found this retreat through trip advisor and we instantly liked it. The place is approx 800 mtr downhill from NH 49. The last mile drive is bit scary as it is too steep slope. The place has only 10 rooms including 2 tree house. Food is vegetarian and it's very good. All in all a very nice place... More

I can easily say that this is one of the best resorts that I have visited. Be it the food, property, hospitality everything were top notch. Food needs a special mention as it was very fresh and vegan. Special TiP 1 : Don't miss the Yoga session :) Special TiP 2: When you go out for sightseeing, it is advised... More

We stayed during 2nd week of Jan. The reservation was smooth. Harish answered every question of mine promptly. His advice of hiring a cab from Cochin airport instead from Munnar town turned out to be very useful and cost effective. We reached the main road around 1 PM and called Kaivalyam.parked our cab near a shop on the main road and... More

I came to this retreat for the yoga and I wasn't expecting so much luxury! The place was so beautiful and located on a spice plantation and very close to the tea gardens. All the food was delicious and organic. They even pick some of it right from the property. The coffee is also so good and I was told... More
