We stayed in the dorm which was comfortable if basic. The kitchen was a great bonus for us, as we like to cook. The pool also a lovely bonus and a platform on the top of the house was a great place to have a beer and watch the sun go down. Take plenty of bug spray and even some... More

Mel, the owner, is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the island. I was so thankful for her help! Short walk to the beach and 15 minute walk to Octopus Dive shop (a GREAT dive shop). I met a lot of great people during my stay and it was also great to have a pool to cool off in at... More

My husband and I spent a week in Roatan at the Roatan backpackers Hostel and it was a great experience. We enjoyed having stove and coffee maker so that we cook in our studio apt. Mel, the owner was lovely. She knew that my husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and brought us a beautiful bouquet of flowers... More

Great value, relaxing pool and Mel, the owner, is awesome. The hostel definitely created a sense of family amongst the travelers. Mel helped my daughter and I get all over the island and do everything we wanted to do. I would definitely stay here again.

We were only spending one night in Roatan so we chose the cheapest option. This place is one of the worst backpacker hostel we have been. The hostel in itself is good, there is a nice swimming pool and hammocks. But the terrible thing is the dormitory. It was the home of an ant colony and numbers of other bugs.... More

I'm glad that you liked the hostel grounds, but I'm really sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. The shower leak was fixed last month, but I see your visit was in May (the seam between the wall and floor where it was leaking through has been sealed, the damaged wall replaced and tiled, and the bathroom cabinet replaced). The property... More

I recently stayed at the hostel with a girlfriend. This was our first hostel experience and I would definitely do it again. The owner was very friendly and laid back. She took the time to get to know her guests and made it a point to make recommendations for restaurants and activities for each and every person to join the... More

Mel was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome and comfortable in Roatan. The hostel was a great place to stay! Well priced and the pool offered the perfect escape from the heat. Highly recommend!

Mel is a great host, this place is extremely reasonably priced, clean, and safe. It made all the difference in having a good time in Roatan having such awesome local accommodations. It's off the beaten track but convenient to most of the fun stuff that goes on in West End. Also a great baleada stand right down the road that... More

The hostel is a bit away ($1 taxi, 5 minutes) from the overly touristy section of West End, which I loved because everything there was over priced. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the owner Mel created a friendly atmosphere and was interested in everyone and their story and took time out to get to know everyone and make... More

The hostel was way better than I was expecting! I stayed in the double bed private room upstairs. Super clean and nice accommodations. The shared kitchen and sitting areas were always clean. Pool was super refreshing in the afternoons! Mel was a wonderful host and kept the whole area clean and organized. She always had ideas of things to go... More
