Just not what expected based on few photos on website. They have added a 3' cement wall around the apartments which are built out under their home. Where the open patio was in pics is now enclosed behind wall and screen. There is the beach you can sit at beyond the wall, but can't see view from inside. View out... More

We have stayed at West End Beach, so this time we wanted a bit more quiet, space, and a feel for the "old island style". We love feeling as though we discovered a bit of hidden paradise, and this place has just that. Still conveniently located to all the amenities we needed. As advertised, Ron met us at the airport,... I lived there before in 2010. This year my husband and I went to visit family and friends. Going back was so good. I felt like I never left, it was so good to be home. The best was that I felt safe there and the beach was clean.

My 12 year old daughter and I just returned from my 3rd trip to Roatan and I'm already trying to plan my return. Each visit I seem to come home with more friends than I left with. I've stayed with Ron and Carol every time I've made the trip and can't imagine staying anyplace else. If you're looking for posh... More

I'm not really great with reviews, nor do I often leave them, but I have to leave a glowing review for Ron and Carol. Their hospitality and kindness on our recent trip went above and beyond what we could have expected. We stayed in the rear cabana/cottage - which had great privacy and comfort. We didn't rent a car on... More

If you want a place to relax off the beaten track and away from the crowds of West End and West Bay, this is the place, right on the beach, a stone's through, I might add, and gorgeous sunset's as well! It is comfortable, adequate and Carol and Ron are great hosts! The magic of Roatan is within your reach... More

I went to Roatan and specifically to Captain Ron's hideaway because of the Trip advisor reports and a friend also said it was a great place to Dive. Well, I was picked up by Ron from the Airport and went via the super Market which was great. I found the apartment to be better than I expected especially at the... More

my first impression of Captain Ron was mentally challenging Facts The cabana is 100 metres from the shore The veranda is mosquito netted but there are holes in the netting, so you can't really sit outside without getting bitten There are barely any utensils to cook with They supply salt and pepper but that's it! The tap and shower water... More

It was hard to believe the wife of the wonderful chef who cooked Christmas dinner for us, wrote this review! First to address each of your ‘facts’: - Our cabana is just under 50 meters from the beach (measured today). - The porch screen does have a few holes – it is on our long “to do” list, although previous... Captain Ron's lived up to the Trip Advisor reviews. Sandy bay is a great place to stay. It is a quiet part of the island, the beaches are not crowded and there are lots of birds. The reef is an easy kayak or a decent swim from shore. Ron and Carol are very friendly and make you part of their... More

Let me start by saying that if you are looking for luxury accommodations, Captain Ron's is not going to be your kind of place. Like Roatan itself, Captain Ron's is a bit rough around the edges, but it is in a prime location and the hosts Ron and Carol will do everything they can to make your stay fun and... More
