We only ate here (didn't stay) and it is a fun location for people watching. The food was mediocre though and more than half of the items on the menu were unavailable. I wouldn't go back for food in a hurry.

Bridge House is the only hotel situated right in the heart of the bustling fishing port of Elmina. Its right on the bridge separating the town from the Fort and most of the rooms look out onto the fort. We arrived by car with no reservation and were slightly concerned that there would be no parking. We were directed to...

I was nearly put off this hotel by some of the earlier reviews but I am glad I took a risk. The situation right by the Castle of St George is fantastic and it was fun to sit on the terrace watching everything happen. The food was quite excellent and the value tremendous. GHC 45 for a single room with...

We moved to the Bridge House after having a bad experience at the Prospect Lodge in Cape Coast. I think that management has changed since these last reviews. We were very please with the cleanliness of the rooms and helpfulness of the staff. We also did not have problems with theft. We did have drinks and breakfast on the terrace...

Lovely lagoon experience, watch the early morning harvest of fresh fish from the ocean.
The rooms were basic and very clean, a totally different experience. Try the fresh snapper, from the first catch harvested-whoa, a happy moment with reasonable rates.
The staffs were friendly and cheerful, they tell us new management.
Would visit again soon.

Stayed for 1 night whilst visiting Elmina. Had stayed at the Hans Cottage Botel the night before which was awful so we were pleased with the facilities at the Bridge House. On arrival I believe there was a problem with our room but our driver sorted this out with the staff and the room allocated to us was decent standard...

Stayed here in July 2008 - our original booking was for 2 nights - we got out after 1 and would not have spent the 1 night there if there was a bus back to Accra. Didn't expect much as we were volunteer teachers and used to staying in much worse! Staff very indifferent - verging on the rude -...

There are a number of questionable statements in this review, beginning with the item about the owner's daughter who, at the time of the review, was busy working in a laboratory conducting research and not laughing and joking in "African."
The Bridge House is different now than it was in 2008 and is certainly different than it was 20 or...

Photos of it looked great but what a disappointment! This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in Ghana and the worst by far. US$90 a night for a room on the top floor with no working TV or fridge, the one mirror was on a wall behind a pillar, no mirror or shelf in the bathroom, dark brown...

I just spend three nights with my family in the hotel. Tu put it simple: the service is close to bad, the food even closer to lousy, and the hotel overall run down and not maintained (in our room tv not working, AC not working , chairs broken, etc etc). Notably the kids facilities are all broken down.
The owner,...

March 2005 - We stayed here for several nights in March while we were in Ghana. This was the most expensive of our lodgings at $150 US per night, and also the biggest disappointment. When I went to check in, they tried to say I had cancelled our reservation. They seemed not to believe the email I produced from the...
