Spent the night here en route to Kakum National Park. The rooms are very basic (and cheap) but have a bed, a shower and a loo which all work. There is a very pleasant open sided public area for eating, drinking and lounging to watch the birds and crocodiles in the lake around which the Botel is built. There is... More

This was a nice respite from a couple of weeks i Ghana. If youve traveled in C Africa a bit, you know all about the power outages. Over 3 days here, their generator worked during every outage. In of itself, that is great! The rooms were a bit above Central Africa standards. The grounds were excellent with great birdwatching around... More

While I have not stayed at the hotel Hans is a must visit while in Cape Coast. Beautiful setting with lots of bird viewing. Most of all you can feed and pet a real crocodile. Have a good meal in a pleasant setting. When traveling I always bring teams there for a fun visit.

First, the address they give is misleading. We could only find the place after a long time of asking locals for directions, for google maps took us to the city centre. The place is well known, though, so we managed to get there. Secondly, the pictures on the website must have been taken long ago, Now, the pond and the... More

Decent stopover traveling along the coast. Stayed here one night only, to eat and sleep before moving on. The place is a bit worn down, but not without charisma. The free running crocs is an interesting feature. Don't stroll around on the dark paths in the evening! Food and beverages is decent and overall the pricing is ok. There is... More

The botel - or boat hotel - has a restaurant on stilts in the middle of a lake with different sections connected by wooden walkways. There are apparently crocodiles in the lake but we didn't see any and the water looked a bit grotty anyway. The food took forever to come and the waiter kept forgetting the order for different... A group of 8 of us stopped here for lunch while touring the area. The restaurant and hotel are situated on a croc-filled lake which is home to wonderful birds. Saw my first Black Headed Weaver birds here (see pics). I tried the fish stew which was quite good. They never brought my order of plantains because they ran out.... More

Living amongst fabulous wildlife and birds and feeling like you are part of a national park. Music at night and a serviceable restaurant which is good value. Staff are helpful and our room were cleaned daily (OK sheets not changed) but fresh towels if you want.Rooms are a little small but you dont spend much time in the room as... More

Excellent restaurant in lakeside setting near Cape Coast. The dining tables are on small 'Islets' reachable by walkways with a number of trees quite close to them where a multitude of local birds nest. The lake also is home to a number of crocodiles (don't go swimming in the lake!) although we only saw two on our visit. Although we... More

This place was above the average because the active breeding colonies of herons and weavers in the hotel premises, but otherwise it wasn't much to talk about. The food in the restaurant was eatable, but nothing more. The rooms were not cleaned during our three-night stay and the water in the pool looked dirty. Otherwise it was ok.
