Really, for $170 a night, we felt entirely ripped off. We had actually booked into the wrong hotel. We were meant to have booked ( on recommendations from friends) at the Elmina BAY Resort, not the Elmina BEACH. But hey ho, off we went. The building is really run down. The website says it was built in 1999 and refurbished... More

I have stayed here many times over the years and for the area it's one of the best places to stay. At best this is a three star hotel in a place only visited by the adventurous. If you have stayed in West Africa for any period of time you know things just don't work seamlessly. The rooms are musty,... More

The reception on the first night was poor. The ladies at the reception were cold except one gentleman called Alex who was helpful despite all the complaints brought to him. We had to wait for an hour to be checked into a room after travelling all the way from Accra for about three hours. Myself and a colleague had to... More

Stayed here for two weird nights. The property seems to be massive but it got too creepy to explore it much. They have a pool but you have to pay extra to use it. They have a lovely outdoor bar area and deck but there never seemed anyone to staff it. Rooms were ok but the can of Raid on... More

Good quite place with beach facing rooms. The staff is very courteous . The room was quite spacious and clean. Play area for kids was nice . Overall a nice exp on new year night. The live band was ok , fire cracker show was nice. Breakfast was awesome with varied choices for both veg and non veg.

Again, by Ghanaian standards this might be an okay place (perhaps even good quality). By western standards, you will be totally appalled by the rooms, which are run down, sparse and smell of mildew, are barely air conditioned, and by the dilapidated furnishings. The dirty curtains barely provide any privacy and while the location on the beach is nice, the... More

Writing lengthy review about this resort won't cut it! Just take a trip there and it would be money well spent. If you love history then you are guaranteed a great history lesson from the hotel organised trip to the slave castles in Elmina and Cape Coast.

Coming from New York City I am used to quality when it comes to hotel accommodation. During my time there I experienced quality that was expressed from all staff members. The Internet access was very strong and the food was superb. Not to mention, the beach front location was very calming. Thank you Elmina Beach Resort!

After staying at the horrible accommodations at Yuri Lodge at The University of Ghana, I didn't know what to expect. The Yuri Lodge had a sparse and undecorated restaurant that took forever to cook food. The overworked waiter was nice enough, but 45 minutes for food is simply unacceptable. The rooms left much to be desired in terms of washroom,... More

I was staying in Ghana with a friend who lives very close to the hotel so I took advantage of the open pool policy. For 10 Cedis (about £3.20) you can access the pool all day. It's right next to the sea with lovely tall coconut palms. The pool itself is clean cool and well kept. But the issue in... More
