Great location in the beautiful old town of Ohrid with a view of Sveta Sofija from our room. Staff are helpful and breakfast is nice and can be eaten at tables outside at the front of the hotel. The bedroom, bathroom and the public rooms look very dated and the air conditioning in the room was not very effective (it... More

A friend and I stayed at the Villa St. Sofija for 3 nights while visiting Ohrid and we were very happy with the choice. The location is excellent being right in the heart of the old town and only a short walk to the water and main square/harbor. The staff was extremely helpful, from recommending dinner spots to arranging laundry... More

The air con doesn't work and there's no circulation so it was ~ 35C in my room and I literally woke up in a sweat every couple of hours. "george" from reception insisted the air con worked (technically, yes, the machine was rumbling but no cold air coming out), which was just insulting. Wifi extremely sporadic and when it is... More

We had a terrific stay at this hotel. The manager, Nikola, was incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for him or his staff. We needed help with transport at the last minute and he personally picked us up for a nominal amount, even though we were some distance away. The hotel is in a superb location in the centre... More

We loved our stay at this popular hotel. The location could not have been better. It is in the heart of the Old Town of Ohrid directly across from the St Sofia Cathedral and only a few minutes walk from the port area. This is a small but very charming hotel that has traditional decor. In fact, it is an... More

Was there last week. Exterior and interior are typical of the UNESCO protected old part of Ohrid, rooms have fine furniture, some of them offer nice view of St.Sofia. The staff is super friendly and helpful, hygiene on a very satisfactory level. The great beach of Potpesh is just nearby. Vila Sv. Sofija is not the cheapest in town, but its worth... More

We stayed here for a total of £106 for 3 nights which was an absolute bargain. We got the bus from Skopje to Ohrid and got a taxi from the bus station for 150mkd. I would recommend getting a taxi as the hotel is in the old town which could be a challenge to find / difficult to navigate if... More

A lovely boutique hotel near the lake shore in Ohrid. Excellent setting and very comfortable room. My only complaint was that the bathroom was really small! There was no room to even put our wash things in the bathroom. Our friends travelling with us did not have the same problem so I suggest you ask for a twin room or... More

I have stayed at Villa St. Sophia for 4 days with my family. We came to Macedonia to visit some of its cities. We loved Ohrid with its Antic Theater and beautiful lake side. Our experience was so good also due to the hotel. The apartment was well furnished, very clean, spacious and with amazing view of the lake. Breakfast... More

I stayed here with my wife and two young children for two nights in October. The rooms were simple but clean and spacious (we had two rooms on the same floor), given the pricing we felt it was good value. The building itself is a nicely renovated traditional building and the location is hard to beat in the middle of... More
