My brother and I stayed at Mark's place in March of 2009 for a week. Because the original cabin he alloted for us was having a technical issue, he upgraded us to a larger cabin for the same price. We thought the location was great and if you wanted a faster way to get places, we simply rented a car,... more

My first few days at Mark's where fine, I spent my days exploring the island with a friend staying at another local. We thoroughly enjoyed Ronald's Pineapple Beach, he is a great guy with an awesome place and great food. I was camping in a tent and the price was reasonable. I ate sandwiches from the local deli and drank... more

I remember this place well, 2 years ago. Am surprised to find my original review not here anymore. I am certain my key points will still be relevant. Highlights were the lovely looking huts designed by Mark and terrific advice from Mark to go on a trip to see the whales. Lowlights were the location, infrequent buses and disappointment about... more

We just returned from a three week Tahitian vacation with ten days of it on a Star Clipper cruise. What a wonderful experience. We are airline employees and travel non-rev, so we had to spend an extra two days before we could catch a flight back to the states. Upon a recommendation we decided to stay at Marks Place on... more

Mark was very friendly one day and the opposite the next day which was a bit disconcerting. he offers Camping but gave the Campers A hard time for cooking in the shared Kitchen. He then charged us for A Bicycle witch we never used. We had to catch a Bus so we had no time to argue and he refused to... more

I had a great bungalow , made of timber and brick, with kitchen and bathroom, for 100 000 French Polinesian Francs per night. Mark, the owner, was always helpful and nice with me. The Place was very clean. There s also a drom-style room, but when I was there it was overbooked, so some people had to sleep on a... more

We have just returned from an amazing family holiday of 7 nights in tahitii. We stayed three nights on the main island and loved it and then travelled to Moorea. The place I had first booked turned out to be 5 km to the nearest store, had no jug and so the only option for food was in its restaurant. It took... more

I just got home from a stay at Mark's place and a number of other dorms in French Polynesia. I'm surprised by the other reveiws. I found mark to be a great host, he seemed to try to match people up in Bungalows that would be compatible. I stayed at several other dorms on Moorea and other islands. Mark's place... more

Mark’s Paradise would be much nicer if Mark was not there. While he has built a beautiful haven in a lovely location (though not on the beach), his personality is wacky! Mark is completely bipolar; one minute he is “over the top” happy and the next moody and irritable and nasty. He does really nice things for his guests about... more

Firstly, I'd like to mention that Mark is an absolute wonderful person. His generousity, honesty and kindness can be felt as soon as you arrive. He works all day and all night to ensure that his customers are happy and have everything they need no matter what the issue OR time. We booked four nights at Marks Place, however, due... more
