We rented a car during our stay and toured the other major hotels on the island. We preferred the Sofitel overall because it feels smaller, has more of an island spirit, and had a great mix of guests from all over the world. Pros: Staff members, especially Bart and Vanessa, were so personable and professional. Beach bungalows, and especially the... more

My fiftieth birthday was spent at probably the most beautiful location possible Temae beach at the sofitel moorea.I researched the hotel prior to our trip and was still somewhat nervous. I was not dissapointed ,the hotel , newly renovated was elegant and modern .The staff were exceedingly attentive to us and especially to the kids. Every morning the same restaurant... more

My wife and I stayed at the Sofitel for a week in late June 2009 and it is quite interesting to compare the real experience with some of the reviews that have been on here so I thought I would review our own holiday here. Location The Sofitel is undoubtedly based on the best beach on Moorea, we drove around... more

Sofitel was amazing! They went out of their way to always make you feel special. Very good service especially for French Polynesia! Great breakfast buffet....supper wasn't great but you could always find something to eat. Take the food package as there aren't places to eat conveniently near by. Someone mentioned walking to market to get water. It was a 4... more

Hi, my husband and I recently returned from a wonderful trip to French Polynesia with 3 nights at the Sofitel Moorea and 3 nights at Le Taha'a (see Taha'a forum for review). We got lots of good advice on these forums and wanted to pay it forward. We arrived early Thursday via a redeye flight from LAX on Air Tahiti... more

My husband and I went on a prize winning trip for seven days in Tahiti, staying in this place. Our package included breakfast which was nice, but the food area was all open and of course always buzzing with flies which the staff seemed to be use to. We stayed in a over-water bungerlow facing the end of the island's... more

We had a great time, because it was our honeymoon , of course. The OWB were nice with lots of storage and great snorkeling, but if you want the service that comes with the price, DO NOT come here. Not many of the staff speak good english, which isn't huge, but everyone was rude, lazy and not friendly at all.... more

We booked our honeymoon through Tahiti Legends and decided on the Sofitel in Moorea and the Intercontinental LeMoana in Bora Bora(review separate to come) for May 3- May 15. Let me first saw that the Air Tahiti Nui flight was great....the food was good and we weren't charged for drinks or blanks or eye masks, etc; very comfortable! Whe we... more

We just returned April 22nd from 5 absolutely magnificent nights at the Moorea Sofitel. We stayed in a Superior Lagoon view bungalow #309. I was concerned before we got there as I had read many comments that these particular bungalows had not been renovated. As far as we were concerned, ours was cute, clean, and comfortable. Although the view of... more
