My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights as part of a group holiday. Our suite was absolutely perfect, with a comfortable lounge and a sweeping staircase leading to an upstairs bedroom. This in turn led onto a patio overlooking the lake. Incredibly romantic. The pool is the focus of the garden and is very peaceful, although a little... More

PROs: The nicest hotel in Sochitoto. 2 nice big garden areas inside the hotel...1 area for sitting/breakfast/sitting...and 1 area with nice and clean swimming pool. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and clean. The whole facility is decorated nicely and is really a nice place to stay. And staff was really helpful. CONs: The room was with 116 USD definitely... More

Dear Seniora Montaloo, I do so wish to congratulate you and your husband on not only the most charming hotel but definitely quite the best dinner I have had anywhere in the world for years. Your staff were so kind but discreet and the ambience was perfect. I was not staying at your hotel but will certainly send all my... More

Wonderful time. Traditional feel, amazing service, great location. It was well kept, very clean. The main courtyard felt very idyllic. The staff were very helpful and super friendly, and the meals and food were also great. Just can't say enough good things about our experience here.

Strolling down the streets of Suchitoto, you will certainly come across Hotel Los Almendros de San Lorenzo on your way. The inviting classic facade will also certainly take you a few steps into the lobby and “corredores” of the Hotel and you will probably agree with me that inside is even more surprising or at least agree with me about... We arrived in Suchitoto hot and tired after a few rough days of travel. The hotel we originally wanted, Las Puertas, was closed, so we thought we'd splurge at Los Almendros. We are so glad we did! Despite looking totally bedraggled, we were warmly greeted by the staff and shown all available rooms. We selected one of the two-story poolside... More

We spent 4 nights in Suchitoto, and stayed at two different places. Los Almendros became heaven for us. It was spotlessly clean and stunningly designed - each room and suite unique. I would definitely pay a little more for the huge extra space. Every member of the staff were super friendly and helpful. We got superb advice on the rest... More

My name is Henry & I stayed here in March 2013 and have to say not only was I impress with the rooms, decorations, style of the hacienda, culture literature books all around if you like to read but most importantly the 5 Star Service I received from everyone that works there. Both owners are great, Joaquin & Pascal, as... More

In December 2010 we stayed at 'The French Hotel' ,as the Los Almendros is known, for two nights and were swept away by the whole experience. The setting is absolutely amazing and should be considered a 'must' to visitors to El Salvador. In January this year, 2014, we returned to the hotel and once again were able to enjoy the... More

All the wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor led us to leave this as our last stop on an eight day getaway to El Salvador. We were not disappointed. As stated, it is a lovingly restored 200 year old hacienda that looks simple from the outside - as all buildings of the colonial period do - but once inside it was wonder... More
