I am studying in Cairo for the year, and for Eid holiday my friends and I decided to go to Siwa. The town was lovely but Palm Trees Hotel was a horrible experience.

Highlights of Palm Trees:

Bed Bugs! There were 12 people in our group and every one got bed bugs (and not just a nibble or two, it was a true infestation).

Awful safari! Due to car trouble (their 4x4 broke down 6 times during the day-time trip) we weren't able to see everything. Most of our time was spent waiting for another truck to show up- it never showed up.

Also, the tour guides (employees of Palm Trees) did not know the route. On the way back, after an hour and a half of driving around in the desert, the driver said, "Are we lost? Where are we?" This hardly inspired our confidence. A series of lucky accidents finally got us back to Siwa 2 hours later.
