We stayed here for 1 night as a stopover point from Banos to Cuenca. The restaurant was closed in the evening despite being listed as open. Wifi didn´t work in the room had to go down to the lobby to get a signal. Breakfast was good with cereal, fruit, yoghurt, eggs and bread with coffee or tea. It was very... More

I went to Riobamba on a mountain biking trip, so I needed a place to stay the night. Some friends recommended this hotel, so I didn't really look for other options. The hotel was average price compared to other hotels and it was located in the center of the city, so it seemed like a good option. This is a... More

Remember why you travelled to Riobamba. For us, it was to do some mountain biking. This hotel was perfect for our stay. The reception is open 24/7 which helped as we did arrive at midnight on our first day. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is basic but the eggs are so delicious. There's a pool table if you want to play... Located at the centre of the city (Riobamba is a small city, anyway), main city atractions are close enough and a walk around is find to get where you want to go. There is (or at least, was by that time) a bar in front of the hotel, where I spent most of my friday night in the city with... More

We spent one night at this hotel in Riobamba during our 10-day motorcycle trip through Ecuador. It was a good value at $60/night with breakfast included. We had a bit of difficulty finding it but once we did, we were pleased with the location on a hill and away from the main part of town. The views from the room... More

I love this hotel! Its in a hill , from where you can have a nice view. We have stayed here before so we already knew it was a good choice. Staff is friendly, price is affordable, rooms are spacious and neat, theres a garage for guests' cars, wi fi in the rooms and in the lobby too, which is... More

I always stay here with my kids. It's not your everyday modern hotel, the service is great, you can trust the staff. Staff goes out of their way to please. Breakfast is the only meal we ate there and it was pretty good. The city is just a few walking minutes away. Rooms are spacious, showers are nice and hot.... More

The El Galpón is an excellent value for an extended stay in Riobamba. My husband and I stayed for about 10 days this year and in 2007. The location is in a residential neighborhood that is a pleasant hike from the Avenida. You'll get the feeling of being a local after doing that walk a few times and back! or... More

I used to stay with my family in El Galpon when i was a kid (i am from originally from Ecuador.) The place is good enough for the price and the rooms are big with cable tv and good showers. The place does need a serious facelift and renovation and skip the breakfast which consists in coffee, bread and juice... More
