The rooms are HUGE and the baths some of the best in Ecuador with walk -in showers and high hand hewn beamed ceilings. Gorgeous fresh flower arrangements everywhere and beautiful gardens. Food and beverage service in the dining room is above average and usually local music in the evenings. Fireplaces in the rooms and the staff come in to light... More

We stayed here as part of the Tren Crucero trip. The only shame was that we could not stay longer. Huge room with fire. A large bathroom with all mod cons. Restaurant food was lovely. All very comfortable.

This is a really nice hacienda. We had a cottage which included a fireplace. The room was large with two double beds. It was very clean and fresh. The restaurant food was very good. The staff was very courteous and responsive. The grounds are exceptionally large. Some folks have commented about the high outside walls but that is because it... More

If Abraspungo could only control the guard dogs and roosters on their property, it would happily merit a three or even four rating. It's a pleasant ranch-style hacienda with big double rooms looking out onto manicured lawns. The restaurant and bar delivered a solid dinner and breakfast, but the pool table had no chalk so was useless and the wifi... More

My wife and I stayed in the 'Hacienda' for 1 night en-route to Cuenca and Guayaquill (Galapagos islands) in March 2014. Our twin bedded ground floor room was decidedly "chilly" and smelled of damp, had no heater in the room, no spare electric sockets (available ones were used by TV and Digibox), bedside lamps and a slight odour of 'drains'.... This hotel is a jewel. Beautiful all around. This is the second time I have stayed here. Rooms rather than having numbers have names. We got the Iliniza. Magnificent. Great bathroom with a separate shower and bath. The room has a small and modern fire place which they come to light it up in the evening. Walking within the premises... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at this very attractive property. It is not really a hacienda, but an oasis located in a suburban area a few miles out of town. Our room was clean and very spacious, the grounds were beautiful, and we had the best meal of our two weeks tour of Ecuador.

We loved staying here. The room was terrific the staff great and the restaurant food very good. Highly recommended . The location is a little out of the way but the room and the service absolutely make up for that.

We stopped at Hacienda Abraspungo on the way back from a visit to Banos and a rug shopping expedition in Guano. And what a pleasant surprise. The room was large, clean and well decorated, the staff was friendly. The grounds were well manicured and invited strolling about. This felt like an oasis of luxury in the middle of Riobamba. Furthermore,... More

Hacienda Abraspungo is a must if you are coming to Riobamba, consider no other hotel. Wonderful rooms, exceptional service, and a fabulous restaurant. Pablo, the restaurant manager, went beyond what his job description is. My father lost his wallet in a taxi. Pablo and my nephew went looking for the taxi for over 2 hours in Pablo's personal car. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The wonderful Hacienda Abraspungo is located at 2,754 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the magnificence of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is named after a glacial valley which is situated between the Chimborazo Volcano and Carihuairazo, in the exact centre of Ecuador.Hacienda Abraspungo, with its comfortable, charming and high level installations offers a personalized service in the ideal spot to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Andes. The architectural style found here offers the best of traditional colonial design often used in the ancestral mansions and haciendas of Ecuador. The Hacienda is adorned with old photographs and illustrations of Andean landscapes, which today constitutes as a testimony to eras gone by. The antiques on display in the social areas give a colonial flavour as well as a feel for the pre-Colombian cultures of the region. The visitor can truly appreciate the richness of the natural resources offered by the Chimborazo Province and Ecuador in general. Each room takes its name from one of the mountains of Ecuador. That mountain is shown in the photographs displayed within the interior design in the room. The owner’s commitment is to create a working environment which allows sustainable growth, enhancing positive image and generating an overall feeling of trust between the working force, the clients, and the community, aiming to become a point of reference within the tourist industry of Ecuador and the city of Riobamba. ... more   less
