I am not sure why this is in the B&B section, since it is a hotel with more than 40 rooms and cabins dotted attractively around some very pleasant grounds, with plenty of greenery and foliage. This is a welcome respite from the city of Riobamba, which is dusty and gritty for much of the year. It´s only a short... more

We stayed for 1 night before the Devil's Nose train and found the experience very pleasant. Nice sized rooms and breakfast and dinner were pretty good. I don't recall the rooms being cold. We left very early for the train which was a great experience! Make sure you heed the advice and rug up- it was FREEZING!!! more

I agree with the other reviewers about the coldness of the rooms. Stayed only one night - thank goodness - as could not have coped with another. the place must have some German ownership or is attempting to atract Germans - it seems to have a sort of hunting lodge image of itself. the room i had was basic in... more

Although the room we stayed in was spacious and clean it was cold. Having said that the staff did provide us with a heater when we asked which made some improvement. There was no hairdryer in the room and the shower head fell off the wall hurting my husband's foot. We did report this and maintenance did attend although they... more

We stayed two nights in Abraspungo hotel and found the room to have the following characteristics: We had two large bedrooms and a bathroom. The rooms were so-so but the bathroom lacked maintenance. No lights in the shower portion and the place was cold. I did not feel that it was worth the price. We were not impressed with the... more

Wife and I stayed there one night prior to leaving for Alausi and the Devil's Nose train. Room was cold at night - even in August but there was adequate bedding to keep us comfortable. Restaurant was cheap but the food was excellent - two drinks before the meal, two meals with some beers and it came to around £6... more

We stayed here 1 night, in one of the rooms some distance from the reception/dining area. The grounds were very attractive - we even had a hummingbird on a bush just outside our room. The room was quite spacious; hot water was plentiful and quick. Food and service at dinner were OK. Breakfast was a cold buffet, with a choice... more

On a tour through Ecuador last winter i was able to stop and stay several nights in the city of Riobamba. I had been reading up on the internet about the hospitality provided by the staff and family of the hotel Abraspungo so i booked my time there at the 'hosteria Abraspungo,' and it was everything i expected. The Inn... more

Abraspungo is off the beaten path, but it is a great find. The staff went out of its way to make sure I was comfortable. I enjoyed the rustic feel of the hotel and felt at home. The reception area and restaurant were very warm and inviting. Many staff members spoke English and they were able to assist me when... more
