We got a reservation to go here for 2 kids and 2 adults. The room price was $120. The room was so small you could barely fit two beds. The room was also dirty. When we asked for a bigger room we were given the shoulder shrug. We left and stayed at a much better place for $60. I was... More

This is definitely not typical of the hotels we stayed at during our visit to Ecuador. We were received pleasantly enough, but were not at all impressed with our accommodation which was arranged on two floors. On entering the room we were confronted by a huge dining table around which were eight chairs. Also in the room were two large... More

This is a great place to stay for couples, singles or families looking for a B&B type experience rather than a large hotel chain experience-- The family rooms are large, the breakfast is included, and the proprietors are very friendly. Convenient location in the center of the city. A lot of character.

We traveled around Ecuador a couple of months ago and we stayed here. The rooms are boxy and small. The bathrooms are clean and nice with good showers. There are no windows to the outside , I guess due to the noise, and the rooms open to the inside of the hotel making it all a little airless. However there... More

We only stayed here one night and it appears that there are a variety of different room styles. Ours was Eucalyptus and was compact, but comfortable. There were only very small outside windows, but whilst natural light was minimal, there was very little outside noise although Riobamba is remarkably quite after 7.30 p.m even on a Saturday night. The quiet... More

My partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a hotel in Riobamba. Yes it is a very beautiful building but we had many disappointments. Firstly we were amped to have a hot bath after a long bus journey however the water was only tepid at best, which made for a lousy shower, considering Riobamba is not warm. We also... More

We stayed only one night in this beautiful hotel in Riobamba, as we were on our way to Alausi. We would have been happy to stay longer. The building and decor were simply lovely, and made us feel as if we were staying in a private home. (The bathtub in our private bath was a very nice touch). The meals... More

After a fabulous week in the Galapagos, we returned to the mainland and spent 4 days in Riobamba on the way back to Quito. We were looking for a comfortable and family / authentic Ecuadorian hotel and felt we were very lucky to find Mansion Santa Isabella. As it was the last part of our holiday, we spoilt ourselves and... More

Mansion Isabella is a small place with a big heart. From when I was met at the door until I sadly said farewell, my time at Mansion Santa Isabella was completely satisfying. It would be hard to find a better chef or more friendly staff. The owners are in the hotel giving their best to guests often going out of... More

Travelling north to Quito via Cuenca, Riobamba and Banos seems good choice to break up this journey. We choose Mansion Santa Isabella for,our stay in Riobamba. As with so many accommodations we've stopped at in South America you certainly cannot judge MSI from the outside street. As you enter the narrow walkway do note the wood engraved sign on the...
