We wound up at Las Palmeras by accident, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The rooms are large and very comfortable, each having comfortable beds, a desk and a kiva fireplace, which can be lit each night. The owner, manager, Cesar, was caring and warm, making sure that all of his guests are comfortable. The only complaint... More

We have visited Las Palmeras for years...always finding small upgrades, simple yet important attention to details - and genuinely friendly staff. The new feature this year is expanded WIFI service thru the grounds. Tho Ecuador has been remarkably dry this summer, the grounds were in beautiful condition. I think this is one of the prettiest places - and only a... More

We stayed her on our recent trip to Eciador. The location is smack in the middle of the volcanos and surrounded by gardens making for lovely surroundings! And the individual casitas had a nice sized bedroom and living area with a cozy fireplace that they light while you are at dinner so you return to a cozy eculaptus smelling fire.... More

Loved the location of Las Palmeras, it was so convenient to the town center of Otavalo. We walked down the hill to the Sat. market and that was great. We ate most of our meals here and met other people traveling Ecuador. I love that they start the fire in your room and bring you hot water bottles for your... More

Nice rooms, nice restaurant, nice people. Ther is no heat but you can mke your own fire in your room wich is really nice. The park of the hotel has a great flora. The only problem is the location, a little far from the center. But evrything else is good

What a little haven this place is! Located just above the city it is a quiet retreat that has you feeling like you stepped back in time. The cabins are cozy and quaint, the staff friendly and helpful, the grounds are blooming with beautiful Andean flowers and the breakfasts are simple yet tasty. I highly recommend this place for a... Being a former guinea pig farm (Ecuadorians still like to eat guinea pigs) the hotel still has kept its rural and simple ambience. It is located far away from the city. They offer dinner (delicious menu - no guinea pig) and breakfast. As the region is quite cold, rooms include a fireplace which will be fired during the evening by... More

We spent three wonderful nights in one of the garden cottages at Las Palmeras. Such a pretty place in an awesome location in the Andes. Accommodating and helpful staff, good food, reasonable prices. While we were at dinner a housekeeper would go into our cottage and light a fire in the fireplace and put two hot water bottles under the... More

This lush place has "Retreat" feeling to it , even though it is only a $3.00 cab ride form downtown Otavalo. And the extra nice touches add to the charm: hotwater bottle placed in the bed and fireplace lit for each guest after dinner. Takes the evening chill right out! Llamas grazing on the the expansive property are fun too.....but... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights while we visited Otavalo. We had our own little cottage, surrounded by lovely gardens. The cottage had a nice bedroom, a bathroom and a small lounge with a log fire. Each night they lit the fire in the cottage for us and we sat and drank a few red wines in... More
