The hostal is well located just around the corner from the market and the plaza, it also offers a very nice breakfast. However there is not commun area apart from the outside patio, the rooms were basic and a bit cold.

Just like most reviewers described this hostal has a great courtyard complete with hammocks, fireplace (don't know when they actually light it though..) and lots of plants, making it an excellent place to relax after a long morning of bartering at the nearby market (2 blocks from the hostal to the central market). If you have a room near the... More

Not what I was expecting when I booked a hostal in touristy Otavalo for 12 dollars a night. It's a beautiful hostal with rooms situated around an inner courtyard filled with trees and hammocks. Breakfast was good, the water pressure was excellent. Nice people in charge.

The hostel is pretty much as everyone describes, convenient to the bus and market square. Rooms are clean, breakfast of pancakes or yogurt and granola. An extra cup of coffee for two is $2.50. Now for the other info. We left our luggage in the locked luggage room next to the office and found later that a lap top, iPod... More

If it weren't for the undulating pattern of river stones on the walls of this corner, it would be too easy to miss Hostal Valle de Amanecer. A friend and I tripped into it, leaving our men pals on the street as we wandered through the courtyard, our jaws dropping, and swore to return to this bit of another world,... More

This the third time that I've stayed at this family Hostal. Amazing colors and breakfast included. Close to everything and bike rentals are on site. Fun place to stay for a day or week. Two blocks from the market and the bus station. Good use of river rocks

When you walk through the front gates of Valle del Amanecer, you step into the Garden of Eden. Over the years Ramiro has collected collected flowers plants which adorn the court yard, with the focal point being a huge avocado tree and coconut palm that can be seen from blocks away. The Hostal has the most amazing restaurant with meals... More

This place was perfect. As we were walking down the street trying to find it, I saw a gorgeous property with river stones lining the walls and I thought "wow, I wish that was ours" and it was! The courtyard is so pretty, hammocks, river stones, an avocado tree. Plus breakfast was included. Our group of three girls and three... More

The prices seem higher in Otavalo anyway, but $12 per night was more than I've been used to in Quito. Having said that, a nice breakfast was included, the rooms were decent and the courtyard is lovely, with hammocks for lounging in.

Love this place, only 2 blocks from the main square market, and on Saturday it is only one block. Across the corner is the in store made ice cream, banana splits $1.35 . Breakfasts are awesome, one of the choices is pancakes with chocolate sauce, mixed fruit and granola. . Great restaurant, good steaks, the best pastas, lots of vegetarian... More
