We loved our visit to Casa Mojando! The rooms are simple but very comfortable and clean with lots of room and those with a fireplace are even better. The views are spectacular and the gardens on the property beautiful. The food is mouthwatering and the service is warm, friendly and wonderful. We felt like we were part of the family.... More

My wife and I recently spent a couple of nights at Casa Mojanda after an eight-day stay on a boat in the Galapagos Islands. Casa Mojanda consists of a series of scattered bungalows built some nineteen or twenty years ago, with stunning views of the surrounding volcanoes. Meals are taken family-style in the dining room of the main building--and it... More

We loved our family visit to Casa Mojanda. The views and serenity were sublime. The hike to the waterfall is easy yet fun, and the waterfall is yours to enjoy alone. The food at the inn was very good, especially by Ecuadorean standards. Good service, simple but fine rooms, lovely flowers everywhere. A great deal, and a place we will... More

The views from hilltops are amazing here, and the setting is tranquil, away from the bustle of the Otavalo Market (great in its own way). But the real treat here is the richness of knowledge from the co-owners, and their generosity in sharing what they know. Their consulting library alone, open on an honour system, is a gold mine of... Casa Mojanda is the total experience. Set in the emerald green hills above Otavalo, we had our own private casa with a beautiful view and wood burning fireplace. You can do a lot or nothing. We toured the market in Otavalo, hiked cross country to a waterfall, rode Peruvian ponies, and sat in the wood fired hot tub watching fireflies.... More

Two nights and days in that cozy, comfortable and beautiful place with an amazing view and energy. The fact that the owner and his family recieve the visitors, gives it a very special and personal touch. With wonderful landscapes and the Otavalo market very near, it is an option to relax and to feel in home, without being. It's a... More

The staff was genuinely interested in our trip and made it a truly unique experience. They arranged two individual tours that were excellent. Transportation into to was also provided. The view is inquisitor and the common rooms very comfortable.

Whether going for a weekend, or a few hours, you are sure to have a unique, special experience. Hospitality is one of many strengths of Casa Mojanda, where meals are served family-style and a... In Feb. 2014 six of us Canadians spent a memorable four days at Casa Mojanda - a series of comfortable cabinas appropriately constructed to fit into a hillside setting with panoramic views, and having excellent relations with the neighbouring indigenous Minga (community). Casa Mojanda is an ideal spot from which to access the Otavalo valley and its many artisan villages.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Mojanda operates on the basis of a firm and ongoing commitment to the principles and practices of ecological tourism and contribution to the surrounding community. Casa Mojanda was designed to have a minimally intrusive impact on our local ecosystem and culture. We believe that ecotourism operations must at a minimum “do no harm,” and be sustainable socio-economically and environmentally, as well as harmonious with and actively supportive of indigenous traditions and cultures. When it comes to lodgings and resorts, we believe that small is beautiful. By keeping Casa Mojanda large in vision but small in scale, we are able to interact with our guests personally, and whenever there is interest, we will connect visitors with local schools, clinics and environmental projects. Each guest is a part of this ongoing process and your feedback and participation are most welcome. ... more   less
