My wife and I stayed at the Hacienda Pinsaqui for 2 nights in August. The Hacienda is beautiful as are the grounds. The restaurant was good and the service for dining as well as lodging we great. The only slight warning I would offer is since the Hacienda is old and they want to keep its authenticity, the heating is... More

This hacienda is really a historic site for over 200 years. The staff is very friendly. Every room is diffrent but has its own wood fireplace that we used even in august. There's a restaurant where you can get an ecuadorian dinner. I think it's a must to spend a one or more days in a real hacienda.

Very nice respite in the Andes. Very nice landscape. Relaxing environment. Rustic rooms with effective wood stove/fireplace. Cozy sleeping. Comfortable beds. Extremely friendly staff and service. Dinning room/restaurant nice selection. Although it was removed from the main road, the highway noise could be recognized in the late morning/mid afternoon. This was the only detractor but it is minor.

While the hacienda surely enjoyed status in former days, the property is sadly run down and in the throes of distress. This remote site in Otavalo region is certainly one of a kind and has locational benefits for travelers to that region. The evening communal meal and entertainment by the signing vaqueros were the best that can be said about... More

A stay in an historic hacienda in the highlands of Ecuador had its allure. Yet there’s a price to pay---it’s rustic. To judge a stay there by star status seems silly. It is totally unique, a cross between a working ranch and a B&B. Truth be told, it’s an opportunity to grasp a bit of history and meet a family... More

We came here for lunch on a tour and had a lovely time. the hacienda is beautiful -- I'd love to come back and stay here. It seemed so peaceful and lovely. We had a delicious lunch. I loved the fish dish that I had. Also, the staff were really friendly.

My first visit to Hacienda Pinsaqui was memorable, so I was hoping that more than 10 years later it would not disappoint. It did not! This is a magnificent hacienda in a beautiful setting, with friendly and helpful staff. I heard a guest complaining about her room in the annex, but we were in the main building and had no... More

This was a good stay in a well kept hacienda, with friendly and helpful staff and lovely grounds. The room (we stayed in the main building) was large, the bathroom a little quirky (but in keeping with the age of the place!), but the great part was the log fire, lit every night for us, plus the hot water bottles... Stayed one night while touring Ecuador. All other guests were German, about 20+ following same itinerary. Attractive grounds gave a good first impression. No television or internet so attended welcome drink. Owner said a few words, emphasising the history. In fact little remains of the Hacienda visited by Simon Bolivar as it was later demolished by an earthquake. Welcome drink... More

It was hard to find and a bit secluded location, but all is forgotten as you drive in. The buildings and setting is lovely. The restaurant has good food, a bit pricey though. Best was the daily delivery of the hot water bottles. Lovely grounds and horse tiding redding are also available.
