Definitely stay here if you are going to Otavalo. We enjoyed touring the grounds, the duck pond, and spotting horses nearby. There are beautiful historic rooms to explore, especially the equestrian bar! We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast here and enjoyed all of the offerings. Management and staff were very attentive and kind. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed this peaceful spot after a few noisy nights in Quito. Highly recommend!

I wish we had stayed here, but this ended up being a lunch stop on an unexpected extra day near Quito. Our group was greeted by a band and had a fantastic lunch here, before strolling the beautiful grounds. We would highly recommend a visit!

The Hacienda Pinsaqui is a large estate turned into a hotel. The grounds are lovely. As the structure wasn't designed as a hotel, the bedrooms are a bit funky, but that added to the charm. The staff was very friendly.

Stayed here with my partner for a rest in a trekking holiday, it was a well welcome break from the trails. The hotel itself is beautiful and filled with history, we were welcomed by the hotel manager with a music and a brief history of the site. The food here was fantastic, lots of options and everything very tasty. We tried the famous Ecuadorian Guinea Pig here which was also beautifully presented. I would defiantly stay here again if I return to Ecuador.

A beautiful historic hacienda with extensive grounds. The hacienda is almost a museum, with a strong historical link to Simon Bolivar. The rooms are beautifully decorated in period, including some lovely paintings. The owner's grandfather (I think) sounded like an interesting character and totally horse-mad; the staff will happily tell you about him. Our room was huge, with separate sitting area. A problem with our taps was sorted very quickly and efficiently. The hacienda offers a pre-dinner show with alcohol and nibbles, which is enjoyable. Our meal was delicious; I would mention that a large party of Americans had pre-ordered meals and therefore quite a number of menu choices were unavailable for us. Luckily not the ones we wanted, but something for guests be aware of. If you have something specific in mind it might be best to contact them in advance.…

What an amazing experience at this hotel. I had no idea of the history of the hotel or that it was a colonial residence of a famous family of Ecuador. When I drove onto the beautiful grounds I realized I was in for a treat. My biggest disappointment was that I was not there longer. This is a palatial residence. It has extensive grounds, a chapel, and many rooms from sitting rooms, dining areas, to bedrooms. When you arrive they provide a historical tour started with a liquor. Be careful! It is straight alcohol. The bedrooms are very large! Or at least mine was. It had a bedroom with a separate sitting area. There was a wood burning stove and because it was colder than normal, a hot water bottle in the bed - lovely! My meal was also excellent. I am celiac and can’t have gluten and they were fully able to accommodate it. Truly magical place to stay. …

Magnificent! Beautiful hacienda with a welcoming and professional staff. It was a chilly night and there was a fire burning in my room’s fireplace and a hot water bottle in the bed when I arrived. Excellent restaurant. Good shower and wifi. Manager spoke good English. Very quiet with a comfortable bed. I plan to come back and stay for several days.

The picturesque setting of this hotel was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and there is a nice walking path around the property. The room was adequate to good but the nice, quiet nature setting was the main positive. The dinner was also good at the restaurant.

History, beauty and above all outstanding service, this is Hacienda Pinsaqui. If you want somewhere where you are treated like a treasured friend, you cannot beat Pinsaqui. Just outside Otavalo and conveniently located on the way to Cotocachi (well worth a visit) and Lake Cuicocha, the hotel is beautiful with good food and lots of attention to detail. There is an air of slightly faded glamour about the place, but this only adds to the sense of history (Simon Bolivar is reputed to have stayed here) - and everything from the fireplaces in the room to the smiling, ever polite staff makes this a great place to stay

There is so much that can be highlighted from my stay, but it can all be summarized in that they will undoubtedly make you feel at home, as part of their family. The level of attentiveness that staff has is beyond words. What most surprised me? The hot water bottles that were placed under my sheets so that the bed was cozy warm once I jumped under the covers after a VERY long day of activities. Every single activity, meal and area shows how much they care, not only about their reputation or service but their story, their heritage. You will be delighted to hear about all the events that have taken place in the hacienda and how it has been attended to through each generation. And staff feel the place as their own; whether you're walking through the green areas or horseback riding, they will share their stories about collaborating in this enchanted place. Be charmed by the surrounding areas, the animals and the people. It is magical, and without a doubt, a place worth visiting.…
