Stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. They have a fireplace, tv room, hammocks on the roof. Good rate with breakfast included. Lovely courtyard and very close to bus terminal. They kindly let our friends (who weren't staying there) leave a couple of bags with them whilst we all visited the market. Staff were really smiley all the time.... More

Grimy grimy grimy. Stayed there in 2010 and left because of the grime. Revisited last month as a tour guide researching and it was still as dark and grimy as ever. Dark mushy rooms. Unatractive court yard, partly parking space. Long narrow plot with high walls and weird layout. No go!

The service here is very friendly, I travelled from the north coast and arrived late at night - an hour after my expected arrival time - and the owner was patiently waiting for me! The rooftop is really nice with hammocks for chilling out, there is free baggage storage, and the wifi can be a little slow but I was... More

I stayed here in a single room for 5 nights. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, the wifi worked (though not always well), and the shower was hot. I arrived on Friday and there were also many people coming here for the Saturday market. As there was nearly no insulation, it was quite noisy at night. Somehow... More

we stayed here for 1 night. Small, but clean and cosy rooms with clean shared bathrooms. The breakfast was good and included in the price. Super helpful and friendly staff. 2 blocks away from the poncho marked.

A real good place to stay in Otavalo. A very good price (15$ for a private room with private bathroom), but more important: the owners are very helpfull and friendly. If you want something, you just ask. Safe portable water is in a big tank for just $0,30 a liter, your can bring your laundery for just $2,- a kilo,... More

It looks like the typical case of: being on lonely planet = expensive and poor service. 30$ for a private with bathroom and breakfast. The room was extremely small, old, not pleasant, cold and with a window looking towards the patio where everybody is passing by (noisy), so you need to keep the curtains closed which makes it a very... We stayed for three nights and very much enjoyed it. We had a double room for $30 with own bathroom. The rooms are quite small but there are plenty of communal areas such as tv room & a fabulous roof terrace with great views of the mountains. The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks to the market. Loads... More

We stayed three nights in Room 6 (private double + bathroom). The room was clean, spacious had a desk, wardrobe and TV. The bathroom was clean and the shower had hot water. Wi-fi connection was fine in the room and reliable. The common areas are pretty nice: a fireplace downstairs, a cafeteria and roof terrace that serves cocktails in the... More

El Rincon del Viajero was just fine. It´s a nice cozy place near town. It isn´t exactly as advertised though. The website mentions a "garden terrace with hammocks" so I envisioned an outdoor space, but there wasn´t one. And no hammocks to be found. The setup of the rooms made it easy to get to know your neighbors, but it... More
