The Grand Hotel is a comfortable, high-end hotel conveniently located in the middle of Guayaquil. Malecon 2000 is only a few blocks away. The hotel has everything that you would ask for at this price ($79 plus taxes). However, I had a slightly better impression of Hampton Inn, however. more

Dinner and breakfast were excellent with good service. The room was plain, bed was comfortable and the shower felt great after 8 days in the Galapagos snorkeling and hiking. The elevator was tiny, max of 5 people. Checkout was slow, they had difficulty making change for a $20 bill. more

I read a lot of reviews in preparation for this stay. Three months ago, I stayed at the Hampton Inn. I checked with them for this trip, but the rates had increased quite a bit, so I decided to try the Grand. I'm glad I did! This is a very nice hotel, with more amenities, and for less cost than... more

Free internet and $84 room for 2 people that includes buffet breakfast and welcome drinks. The staff were more than helpful. We had a rent car and they provided an armed guard (with a shotgun) to watch our car while parked by their hotel. They have their own private security as do many places that are armed and assist you... more

Hotel is adequate only. Noisy part of city. I paid for dinner with my credit card and the next day 8 fraudulent charges were made in the US on my card. It was the only place in Ecuador that I used this card, so someone in the kitchen must have sent it to an accomplice in the US. more

I was on a tour of southwestern Ecuador and spent the first two nights at this hotel. It was booked by the tour so I didn't choose it. I liked it very much. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the rooms were spaceous enough and clean, the restaurant was good and open at all hours. The hotel backs up to... more

My wife and i spent several days in the hotel while checking out the city and the Malacon. I cant say enough about the service we got and the spotlessly clean rooms we got .And we were in 3 different rooms during our stay because of flying to Cuenca and Manta. its a short walk to the Malcon and on... more

A hotel just to spend the night in my way to The Galapagos Islands, is near downtown this area is not that safe to be out on the street, I would prefer to be near the modern area of the city next to the shopping center. Yo do not feel that secure in the areaa. the hotel rooms are very... more

Rooms are a good size with one of the best showers I've experienced from a hotel - but if have room facing the road be prepared for noisy traffic (hooting & tooting all night). Free internet access (30 minutes a day) useful as mobile phone did not work in Ecuador. Hotel offers shuttle to/from airport in its promotional material, but... more
