This hotel is a very old hotel but is well kept and renovated, rooms can be too small tho. The best thing this hotel has is the restaurant, which serves local food and is just fantastic. It is located right accross the street from the iguanas parks and the cathedral, in the downtown area....whcih means you cannot walk around after... More

We were lucky to get a good rate ($72) which was more than we had been paying throughout our trip but felt we wanted a hotel close to the malecon and downtown. We were greeted with a doorman who took our suitcases from the sidewalk and opened the door to our luxury. Our room was spacious and very nicely appointed.... More

The hotel is located on a square in downtown, which contains a great little park. Across the square is magnificent church. Rooms were large and quiet. DEcor was early 70's. Bathrooms were dated bur very clean and functional Taxis are rate controlled so it only cost 3 dollars to go to restaurants nearby. The hotel has a small restaurant downstairs... More

I honestly expected more of this hotel, especially in view of the price. The location is absolutely great and the room was spacious but it stops here really. The service was rather nonchalant. The aircon is so loud that you cannot leave it on for too long. The restaurant (la canoa) is absolutely awful. The breakfast is outrageously expensive. Needs... More

Overpriced and way too expensive for a cheap room. The management was not understanding when American Airlines cancelled our flight. They charged us for 1 night we didn't stay due to circumstances beyond our control. WE COULDN'T STAY BECAUSE WE WERE NOT IN THE COUNTRY,yet! For what we paid, we could have been in a 5***** place instead! We stayed... More

The Hotel Continental is an great hotel with very courteous staff and with an excellent location at the heart of Guayaquil's center. It is across the street from the "Park of the Iguanas" and a few blocks from the Malecon 2000. Having said that, it is very pricey (as most of the nicer hotels in this area are), especially for... Arriving with no baggage (left in Amsterdam) makes you notice how useful the little things can be , the room had a disposable razor in the bathroom combined with all the usual stuff one expects . Which for once were more than a luxury . The boys on the door are always happy to see returning guests and they made... More

This hotel would be a good 2* but definatelly not worth the 5 they're advertising with! For the same price you'll find way better options litteraly around the corner. The rooms look old fashioned and don't offer the comfort a 5*hotel should have nowadays. e.g. no fridge, coffee maker etc. furniture straight out of grannys age and to ajust the... More

From ensuring you have a "safe" taxi to looking after dinner or any other needs the staff are ready to help! The rooms are really nothing special but location close to main bus terminal, Malecon 2000 and of course the airport are what makes it good. I paid $40 less booking the second night here at the hotel than I... More
