Cons: (1) One hour after we arrived, around 11 pm, I was going to my room and I saw a big RAT walking the hallway and going into the KITCHEN. I told the night shift guy and he only said "oh..." and went back to playing Solitary. He didn't say anything nor tried to do something. I heard the rat... More

Dear Diego: I remember you perfectly; you stayed with us in July, I think. As I told you that time, there was a pest of mice in the area; not only us but other buildings in the are were affected by that plague. Fortunately, we could fix the problem with the help of our Fumigation company, and a short time... More

We found the rooms here to be small but adequate. Filtered water available, patchy wifi. Breakfast was toast, fruit and eggs which can also be arranged in a to-go bag. There were shared bathrooms that were always kept clean. Friendly staff and in good location right beside pier. 10 min walk to Santa Ana.

Dear Alison, thanks for your positive remark about us. We strive for excellence; and even though some people dont understand our artistic concept --standarized places always have their crowd-- we are always recognized as a place with identity. This is the first time we are defined as an average place =) More

Wow. So overpriced! Literally the only good things about Manso are the nice girl in the reception and the free water bottle refills. No wifi reception in the rooms, filthy showers, water is worms at best and really expensive! They didnt give us the discount we deserve (hola hostels). Long story short- look for a better option, you will get... More

Dear Roi P, If you didn't get the discount you expected, it would have been advisable that you asked for the manager and made it clear about your point. We dont get many discount requests from Hola Hostels and it is likely that the Front desk person did not understand your requirement. It is not fair to discredit a hotel... More

The hotel is on the first and second floor of the building, looking over the main avenue of the malecon. I slept in the dorm, that was at the end of the first floor, by the kitchen and in front of a patio. It had its own bathroom and air conditioning. They gave me a towel. There's liquid soap in... Dear Guest: Thanks for your comment about us. It is not quite clear for me why the low rating you give us, nor the question marks in the title of your review. I should assume they were a mistake because your described experience does not look so bad =) The internet connection problems in the area of the dorm has... More

The room was fine but smelled of chemicals, the bed very comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and fine too. The place feels a bit like a hotel, the staff are nice but in an anonymous hotel reception kind of way. The decent quality breakfast was a nice treat. The huge downside is the absurd price. Paid $47 for a... More

Dear Bob, If we were located in another place not as expensive, not as beautiful and not as safe as Guayaquil's Malecon be assured that our rates could be $5 less than they are. If we had half of the many common areas we have, we could build more rooms and charge about $5 less per room. If we did... More

We paid $47 for a very small, institutional twin room. We had to share a bathroom with others, which was not clean, and this was not stated when we booked the room. Stayed in several other hotels at similar prices where we had our own bathroom and a large room (these were also in great locations in big cities). We... More

Dear Guest, We call ourselves boutique because we are everything but a standarized place, because each one of our room has it particular design, because we operate in a beautiful, remodeled landmark building and because there are lots of art everywhere. Regarding price, we have two categories: Standard and Economy. For all the services we provide, our well selected, highly... More

I stayed 2 nights in this hostel, and was really delighted by the decoration and atmosphere, even though this was a bit out of my budget. The beds are comfortable, there is a balcony with a hammock to relax.... The location is also great, with a direct view and access to the male on 2000. Only downside of the stay,... More
