The hotel is on the first and second floor of the building, looking over the main avenue of the malecon. I slept in the dorm, that was at the end of the first floor, by the kitchen and in front of a patio. It had its own bathroom and air conditioning. They gave me a towel. There's liquid soap in... The room was fine but smelled of chemicals, the bed very comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and fine too. The place feels a bit like a hotel, the staff are nice but in an anonymous hotel reception kind of way. The decent quality breakfast was a nice treat. The huge downside is the absurd price. Paid $47 for a... More

Dear Bob, If we were located in another place not as expensive, not as beautiful and not as safe as Guayaquil's Malecon be assured that our rates could be $5 less than they are. If we had half of the many common areas we have, we could build more rooms and charge about $5 less per room. If we did... More

We paid $47 for a very small, institutional twin room. We had to share a bathroom with others, which was not clean, and this was not stated when we booked the room. Stayed in several other hotels at similar prices where we had our own bathroom and a large room (these were also in great locations in big cities). We... More

Dear Guest, We call ourselves boutique because we are everything but a standarized place, because each one of our room has it particular design, because we operate in a beautiful, remodeled landmark building and because there are lots of art everywhere. Regarding price, we have two categories: Standard and Economy. For all the services we provide, our well selected, highly... More

I stayed 2 nights in this hostel, and was really delighted by the decoration and atmosphere, even though this was a bit out of my budget. The beds are comfortable, there is a balcony with a hammock to relax.... The location is also great, with a direct view and access to the male on 2000. Only downside of the stay,... More

This hotel is lovely. Our stay was without a doubt excellent. The location of the hotel is right on the malecon making it both easy to get to and safe. There is a doorman who is happy to help and you are created at the top by the entrance to both hotel and eatery. Right from the off the hotel... More

This was a perfect "down time" hotel. The location is marvelous. You're right on the Malecon for good walks in either direction along the river. The folks who work here are helpful and pleasant. The breakfast is good and the kitchen produces other delicious and innovative meals. I even got a glass of passable red wine. There were lots of... More

The hostel was the chipest I found, 17$ per night. It has Wi-Fi, but other then that: no computer for guests, most of the rooms are without Windows (with Windows it's almost double the price), no electricity socket, and specifically today no water for half a day, including closed toilets and shower problem. The staff is really nice and speaks... More

Dear Ronen, I have to clarify that Manso has a great quality / cost ratio, considering our high quality standards and our prime location. We have spacious Riverview Rooms and also Interior Rooms with windows to interior patios which are more silent, though less spacious. Even those rooms are in the range of $52-$59 + taxes. Besides, we have three... More

The Manso Guesthouse comes with advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, the location on the river front is hard to beat. The room we had (the White Room, on the first floor in the front) was spacious and clean. The street noise is an issue, starting early and going late. Our room also suffered from being right by the... More

Dear Guest: Indeed our Riverview rooms are noisy if you are used to sleeping in silence. For those instances we always recommend the interior rooms or the Riverview rooms in upper floor. Regarding noise from the lobby in the morning, please accept my apologies. Our staff knows that they should have everyone speak in a tone of voice respectful to... More

This place is located overlooking the Malecon 2000 and the main road with 4 lanes of traffic including very noisy busses. Bring your ear plugs. Our room was large and comfortable as was the bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is only 1 safety deposit box and that is at reception. If you have reduced mobility be aware... More

Dear Jack, our corporate values dictate that we say with transparency what to expect from our service. Two things that we always mention in our web site and in the confirmation email everyone receives is that we dont have stairs and that our riverview rooms are not suitable for people who are used to sleeping in silent places. But we... More
