This is a crazy place, with quirky decor and delicious breakfasts, overlooking the Malecon. Guayaquil's old town - which is undergoing fast and impressive renovation and the area is full of charm. We stayed in room overlooking the Guayas estuary, very pretty. Ecuador itself is fantastic, I have never been in a country that inspired so much hope.

Manso Boutique Guesthouse is staffed with very helpful people. They answered all our questions, gave us some maps and went the extra mile to make our stay confortable. The location is perfect. Worth every penny!

Free upgrade to the tangerine room which had its own bathroom and was a bit newer than the room I was transferred to after (Manzanilla). The manzanilla was actually a dorm for three even though I booked a private single but I was alone in that room for the night. All in all the location is great as it is... More

I stayed in the blue room (female shared dorm) 1 night before heading to Montanita and loved it so much I also returned for my last night. The staff was so friendly, they all remembered who I was a week later. They were great with helping me organize buses and gave me recommendations on what to do in the city.... More

A $5/15 minute cab ride from the airport, the location is excellent, right across from the waterfront and the river. The Hostel is a multi level with stair access. Somewhat hip, unique artwork, and plenty of common area seating spaces and balconies. Air conditioning in the rooms Great breakfast. They even have tango lessons. Wished I had stayed longer

My son and I stayed here one night prior to flying back home to the U.S. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. The rooms have names, and we stayed in "Ginger". Nice large room with a view. It had a large bathroom, nice furnishings, cable TV, and very effective air conditioner. Our room was set up with a single... More

-I stayed there for 4 or 5 nights, I can't remember exactly the amount since I had to cancell some nights due to a sudden trip to Cuenca. -I stayed in their shared room for men, so maybe my opinion could differ from others. -The personnel really desire to help guests, they're mostly young locals working part-time. It was my... More

Dear Chocolate: Thanks for your kind comments about our staff. I am kind of worried about your remark about the couple in the upper bunk bed. I read that your stay was in September 2013 but your comment is from 3 days ago. Would you be so kind to let us know when did you stay with us? We need... More

In a nice safe area along the riverbank, close to sights and shopping. Staff is helpful and there is a computer for guests to use. Two vegetarian entrees offered: quinoa burger and lentil burger. $5 taxi to airport. Walk to the "iguana park" but don't walk under the trees as you might get "rained on!" Was in the women's dorm... A beautiful hostel. Ideally located on the Malecon, this hostel offers a nice atmosphere, with lots of colours, stylish decoration and a boutique. Extra clean and with AC, which is quite useful with muggy Guayaquil. Complimentary breakfast was really very good.

Stayed here for two days and it was the perfect location. Close to the airport and bus station. Really safe. Right beside the water, walking distance to las penas and beautiful buildings and churches. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. Serving eggs to order and fresh juice. Have vegetarian lunch and dinner options. Staff was friendly. Only downside was it was a... More
