This guesthouse has been a nice surprise. It's situated in the old Osijek city centre, the Tvrdja, and is 2 mins on foot from the main square. In the past it was a large flat of a wealthy family that, depsite some renovation, kept its old spirit. The rooms are large and well equipped, the breakfast good and the price... More

I've been following this place since it's begining and I have to give credits to the owners for keeping a friendly and home atmosphere throughout their growth from a small B&B till today. No matter if you're on a business trip or discovering Slavonia's best, I can't think of a better place for a night rest. Accomodation itself is a... More

Very nice welcome in this guest-house. You can park in front in the old city part of Osijek and you'll get all kind of advice from the managers (in both Croatian or English). Nice breakfast, lot of books or DVDS. We loved it.

Brilliant place to stay in the best part of town. Wonderful hosts, especially Gordana, who gives great advice and provides interesting conversation (and cooks a mean ham and eggs). Location is excellent, great Slavonian restaurants nearby, and a wonderful old pub round the corner (Old Bridge Inn). The Fortress is an open air museum and staying at Maksimilian enhances one's... Located in the old fortress its nice and quiet, but still has bars, cafe's and restaurants around it. The room we had #1 was huge and clean but right next to dinning area. Breakfast was good and felt like being at home. Friendly staff A bit of a walk to the town Nice places to eat in the fortress anyway.... More

Excellent location within the old Fortress/Tvrđa. The service and hospitality of all the staff is always at a high level for all their guests. Breakfast is till 10 am and it is very tasty. Rooms are large and comfortable and very clean and each one is decorated in a special and original way that adds personality to the hotel. Every... More

This beautiful guesthouse is up there with the best accomodation I have ever stayed in. Of course there is no bar or swimming pool or any other unnecessary amenitiy that goes with so called "luxury" accommodation which one always pays for but never uses. There is though character, charm and history galore. The guesthouse itself is magnificent and the rooms... More

We were here with a small tour group, and the two of us stayed on the top floor in a spacious room with sloped walls (sort of a remodeled attic space). The house was built in the 1800s and retains many period details, including a beautiful curving staircase and gorgeous chandeliers. The breakfast was good--the usual selection of cold cuts,... More

Stayed here as part of a tour and had a lovely stay. Our room was quite big and the bathroom looks recently updated. There is a 24 hour bakery on the corner and it is a 3 min walk to the Square of the old town and about 20-30 min to the main city square, it's a nice meander along... More

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour. The rooms are nice, but small and the furniture has sharp corners, leading to a few bruises. Other than that they were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and gave a flavor of the region. The owner is usually around, friendly and very gracious. Highly recommended.
