If you want to stay in a Hotel in Motovun you only have one choice! However, it is a good one. All the basics are fine. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and efficient, the food is good and not overpriced. I did not use the spa but those that did gave it high ratings. However,... More

The hotel is in the very center of Motovun, but you have secured parking if you're arriving by car. The service is excellent by all means, from serving breakfast to finding information if needed. The rooms are clean and spacious, and you can't get one with a bad view. When we weren't roaming nearby places, we relaxed in the wellness... More

We stayed in the Green Room Suite. It has the original frescos from the castle. We took pictures of our walls and ceiling. We were sleeping in a room that could be part of a museum. The bedroom is huge and the full bath is very well appointed. To complete the room, there is a private balcony overlooking the town... More

I stayed here as part of a Rick Steves' tour, and while it is the only real hotel in town, it was a really good choice. I had a roommate and we were in room 115. It was a really large room that could sleep three people (double bed (I think it was two singles pushed together) and another single... More

I would not go to Motovun as a day trip, but I would recommend it as a base for exploration. To return in the late afternoon after the hoards of visitors have left and to return to this hotel was a joy.The hotel is perfectly comfortable, but the views over the valleys and the spa treatments make it a destination.... Stayed for a couple of days during the low season (May), and was suitably charmed by this lovely gem of a hotel. Perched right at the top of the town of Motovun, you have to struggle to get your luggage over the slopes and cobble-stones, but the views from the windows are exceptional and the silence and atmosphere of the... This hotel would be a nice place to stay anywhere - comfortable, well appointed rooms, beautiful spa and pool, nice restaurant and bar........ But it is the setting that gets it the fifth star. The Kastel is perched in the heart of a medieval town on top of hill with glorious views all around of valleys, forests, and small Italianate... More

We were traveling with a walking group and found the hotel an ideal spot. Comfortable contemporary rooms . Wonderful terrace at top of hill overlooking the valleys below. Worried about noise, but our two nite's it was quiet. Enjoyed the pool after a long walk in the nearby countryside,

A very nice restaurant at the Kaštel hotel in the middle of medieval town of Motovun offers a great place to have a nice short meal and a nice glass of wine. The prices are just fine and the service a greta pleasure to sit there and have quiet afternoon. Pasta, salad and similar variety of food mixed with local... More
