What a great place with bags of character. Sure, when we were there the refurb wasn't complete but what the hell the room was spacious, the bathroom beautifully fitted and the location excellent. Charming hotel with wonderful and helpful staff. We spent there the best days of our holiday in Croatia. The rooms are big and fully equiped, the service is exceptional and their restaurant is really far the best of the island. Booked this place after reading reviews and decided the Adriatic and Yacht club were just too expensive. Hvar is a great place, but in spite of the expensive and exclusive hotels it seems to be full of loud, drunk antipodeans. What a beautiful property! Our hosts were terrific, even drove us 25 minutes to the ferry, getting up early at 6:00 a.m. to do it. Rooms are brand new, breakfast terrific and included in price. This beautiful old Venetian built family house has been sympathetically refurbished this year (2007) to create a lovely family run hotel with 'the personal touch'.
