Stayed for a week in early September. Believe me I have stayed in some rotten places around the world but this isnt one of them! Was given a double room with sea view in one of the pavillions (AkaCila) . Basic room but no more or less than a compable room in Spain for example. Beautiful view. Lots of hot... More

Let's first start with the good things: close to the city center (5 minute walk). All depends on age I guess. If you want to hear pumping house music from the nearby clubs, until about 3 AM, inside your room, then I would choose this hotel. As the rooms have no AC, the only cooling air option is to open... The hotel itself is a bit old, and not extremely clean, but still it is above the average as I find that in Croatia cleanness is not a priority. The breakfast in the morning was the most terrible I have ever had in my life! there was the sweet and savory option as well, such as cured meat and cheese...but... More

This hotel is very old and many things are no longer working properly. That being said, what a great deal to be able to stay next door to the beautiful Amfora resort. The pool is a fun place any time of the day. Drinks and food are affordable. If you do stay at this hotel, upon checking into your room... More

Beware of incorrect signage to this holiday destination!! It is actually fairly close to the centre, quite a hefty climb up to the hotel at the end of a night out though!! Conveniently located en route to the 'Castle club'. Contrary to popular belief on tripadvisor, the breakfast was nae bad. An interesting take on Nutella. Awful coffee. The pool... More

I actually stayed at the Pharos 24 years ago, when Croatia was part of a communist state and Hvar was quite a sleepy little fishing port. Hvar has become very cool and trendy but still very welcoming. The hotel has hardly changed at all in over a quarter of a decade, with the exception if a fair amount of deterioration.... More

This hotel is a complete disaster! The room was dirty, there was no AC in the room, the staff was terribly rude, breakfast was horrible. The receptionist was the worst of all. Me and my friends went to Hvar Island for one night unfortunately we made our reservation earlier and couldn't change. If you want a pleasant stay in Hvar... More

DON'T GO THERE! We endured 2 nights of sheer torture in our overheated room, 40 deg temp, with no fan or air con. Thankfully we did buy a fan making it slightly bearable, however I spent most of the 2nd night on the concrete balcony, trying to sleep through loud music from the pool area. The furniture and fittings were... More

This hotel is extremely overpriced for what it is! Old, dated and dark. Light fittings and shower broken. Staff incredibly rude and unhelpful. Breakfast bizarre and low quality. Ridiculously hot at night - no fan or AC. Worst of all, smoking allowed indoors such that our corridor reeked of stale cigarette smoke. I would not recommend booking this hotel -... More

We stayed at the Pharos Hotel because booking.com put us there after over booking a much nicer hotel round the corner. However we had no choice but to accept as they'd left it so late to tell us. (I'm never using this site again btw) The room was reasonably clean, but it was RIDICULOUSLY HOT as there is no air... More
