I really enjoyed the stay, the building is beautiful and rustic, giving you a real sense of the area. Dorms are clean and secure with huge lockers. The hostel has a lot of character and a great atmosphere. Mama and the team are fun and always happy to help out, rent you bikes etc. I loved it so much I... More

I pre booked Mama Naxi's and quite frankly was never sure exactly which one I was staying at. I never saw the famous Mama Naxi. There was a very nice younger woman at reception who spoke good English and was helpful, and a not so helpful guy. When I arrived I gave the taxi driver the instructions, went to the... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Mama Naxi. We were picked up from the airport by them for 80RMB which was a great idea as Lijiang is a maze of alleyways and we wouldn't have had much luck finding it ourselves. The inn is beautiful and in a lovely old town setting with lots of red lanterns. Room had electric... More

I stayed in Mama Naxi's guesthouse for three nights last December while on a hiking trip to Yunnan from Beijing. At first I received some confusion regarding airport pickups, but luckily I had a Chinese friend call them for a translation. In the end I had a transfer from the airport for a reasonable price of 80rmb. When I arrived... More

Tucked away in a quieter corner of the Old Town, Naxi Guesthouse is far enough away from the hordes of tourists to actually enjoy a walk around the cobblestone alleys, but still close enough to the action. The guesthouse itself is beautiful and has retained a lot more authentic charm than many of its' Old Town counter-parts. 100yuan will get... More

Me and my boyfriend arrived to Lijiang at 8 pm and searched for the Mama Naxi (according to the Lonely Planet). We found it and asked for the double bed room- We paid 160 RMB. When we got into the room, we found out that there is no wifi signal in the room, only near the recaption. Also, the "hot... More

Actually not really one place. The hostel has at least (at the time of out visit) three different buildings. We stayed one night at a pretty deserted place in a hot room in need of some work. The next night we spend at the (main) hostel building. A lot nicer here, but still we had to wait a long time... More

Such a lovely place to stay. Mama is very cute and gives you tea and cookies all day long. Her daughter is a little bit sulky but that didn't bother me. The rooms are big, clean and the beds are comfortable. The common area is lovely and when it gets cold in the evening, mama makes a fire to keep... More

The hostel is very nice and perfectly clean. The dorm room (6 people) was perfect. The owners of the Hostel, old naxi Chinese couple, is very helpful and friendly. The only negative point was that the two people from the staff who work on the Reception were kind of unfriendly and not super willing to help with planning. All in... More

I loved staying in t his guesthouse. The people running it were very kind and organized a great chinese dinner for all the guests. Also made some international friends there. Rooms were simple and clean. The inner court is a pleasant meeting spot, for chatting and enjoying a cup of tea.
