Nice new place, located on hill overlooking old town, amazing views at night. Kind, English speaking staff - especially George and Nicolas - and quite reasonaable breafkasts too. HIghly recommended. Get room with a view - worth extra.

This was a bright spot in our five-week journey across China. Technically a "hostel," but we had a private room that was nicer than most hotels we stayed in elsewhere. Almost new, very clean, set high on a hill above the old town of Lijiang, and thankfully outside the crowds of the old city. Staff speaks good English, is friendly... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here four nights total, on either side of our hike in Tiger Leaping Gorge. The staff were incredibly helpful every step of the way, from giving directions to our cab driver over the phone when we arrived, to helping us plan Tiger Leaping Gorge, to booking onward travel to Kunming. They were so nice and... More

We stayed in Garden Inn about one week. They moved to a new property, which is spacious, nicely furnished and a 5 minute walk from old town. The staff speaks perfect English and is extremely helpful. Pros: Staff, new rooms, views Cons: no real common area

Garden Inn is an amasing place to stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, with beautiful views. Though it is not directly in the Old city, it's right across the street, which is even better. The stuff is super friendly and helpful about. And they bake tasty bread for their sandwiches! I would definitely recommend to stay there.

Garden Inn worked well for us, being clean and modern with very helpful staff on the edge of the old town, over which our rooms had good views. It is about 40 metres up a footpath connecting with the main road around the old town, so we had to bump our bags up the hill on arrival. After spending a... More

The Garden Inn is definitely a no frills hostel; it does what it needs to do & nothing more! We arrived in Lijiang via train and caught the number 4 bus to the old town, which was 1rmb each. When we arrived we couldn't figure out where the hostel was, so we paid a taxi driver 10rmb to take us... More

The hotel is located at the edge of old town but not too far. It is closed to bus stop (5 min walk) and takes around 10-15 min by foot to the center. Staff was great and fluent in English. We got free old town map and he helped us to find out tour package to Jade Dragon Snow mountain.... More

The staff was very helpful, the location was amazing in the old city. Although toiliet and shower were in double room together and if u have shower everzthing is completelz covered in water. As well we were lucky cause our room was very small but there was no heating eventhough its cold in november nights.

The location quite OK. (at the edge of old town, of course, backside). Quite easy to go out and have low price meal but good teast at the restaurant outside the old town. However, this hostel actually need to renovate the toilet and shower room as soon as possible. Of course, the hostel sales the map of old town, no... More
