This place is a cute little find! The rates were reasonable, rooms clean and centrally located on a quiet lane but near the main shops of the old city. The family that ran the hotel was quite friendly. It comes with wireless Internet and the family is happy to whip you up some yummy Yunnan tea. They are also very... More

The room rates were reasonable, the rooms were clean and tidy, the family who runs the hotel is super friendly (though not much English is spoken by any of them) and the location is great. Quiet lane, but near to everything in lovely Lijiang. The electric blankets are an added bonus, especially on those cold nights!

I stayed in this guesthouse for a few days with my friends and I have never come across as much genuine helpfulness as I have encountered here. Carol and her husband Min extremely friendly and tried to help with every query as best they could. They pick you up from the airport, give you good advise of the food and... More

I stayed at this hostel for five nights in late August 2010 and found that overall, this is a place worth staying at, if you can forgive some imperfections. As part of staying for five nights, transportation both to and from Lijiang airport were included. We were met at the airport, driven to the old town and then guided to... More

My husband and I stayed at Mu's garden Guesthouse end May early June 2010. We found it to be a delightful stay with our hosts, Min & Carol, giving us heaps of information, advice and suggestions. Loved the traditional Chinese breakfasts for 5yuan each. Nothing was ever too much trouble here and we would highly recommend it. If we ever... More

We booked this guest house after seeing the reviews on tripadvisor. We arrived quite late at night and (in total contrast to the hotel where we stayed in Chengdu) the owner let us go straight to bed allowing us to check in on the following day. The guest house is located in the old town of Lijiang, near to Mu’s... More

We were not fans of Lijiang but if you have to visit the place, this is an excellent budget option. Our room was comfortable, the hotel itself is cute, set around a nice courtyard near the Mu Garden. The staff were very helpful and happy to give any amount of advice and book anything you need. We were picked up... More

Mu's is situated very close to the palace in Lijiang but finding it is no easy matter. So it was nice that the girls came and met me and my two young kids and helped us with the luggage through the winding narrow streets of old Lijiang. We got an upstairs room which was very simple but clean and adequate.... More

I found this little hotel on the internet when I was looking for a place to stay on my first night in Lijiang before moving on to Tiger Leaping Gorge. I arrived late at night and was greeted by the young couple who owns it, and given a confortable room. The owners are very friendly and helpful and assisted me... More

The owners of Mu's Garden Guesthouse both speak good English. They were happy to help me research Chinese texts and internet information concerning destinations outside of Lijiang which I wanted to visit, such as the hot springs at Xiagei, and Lake Bancao over the border in Tibet. They also helped me to arrange via the Chinese internet booking system, favourably... More
