We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Jim's Tibetan Hotel. His mum let us in early in the morning as we arrived from the overnight train from Kunming. Jim had also been kind enough to advice us on taxi cost from Dali and facilitate our early arrival. With excellent english he was also able to advise us on things to do... More

This is a wonderful place to stay in Dali. It is a just a short walk into town - not too far and not too close. It has a beautiful garden which was wonderful for the children who were travelling with us. The hotel is built along Tibetan architecture lines and is spacious, private and very comfortable. If this is... More

Very pleasant courtyard hotel, shared balconies outside rooms, lovely freshly prepared food, couple of minutes walk to south gate, food shops at bottom of street, Jim is very helpful, English is fluent, beware of his tibetan hooch, not to my taste, only problem we had was waiting for breakfast on our last day when we had pick up arranged, all... This hotel is recommended for backpackers, couples or singles. The design of the place is nice, looks like a Tibetan hotel. This place is better than other hotels nearby with a nice yard with chairs surrounding tables. Outside, you can try the nightlife of BBQ, dancing and local food.

The hotel is very pretty with verandas surrounded by flowers and a lovely garden. The location is great-near to town but not too near -and up a quiet street. The rooms had some lovely furniture and there were various heating appliances which were very welcome at this time of year.Jim was a friendly guy and his staff were the same.... More

We stayed for 4 nights in Tim’s Tibetan Hotel. A great location on walking distance from the centre of Dali. A welcoming atmosphere, nice spacious rooms with an own sit on the veranda before the room. The breakfast is good and also the food in the restaurant was fine. Jim is very warm-hearted and helpful and gives perfect information to... More

The hotel is located just a five minutes walk from the southwest gate of the old, small city of Dali. Dali is a small, pretty, walled city, overflown by Chinese and international tourists. Its nice to walk around once, but then you have to get out of there. Jin's Tibetan hotel is located just good for that reason. You can... More

We read the reviews of Camiel S, bruzekkp, and Old-peculiar before starting our review, and we do not have a lot to add to what each of them said so well. Jim's Tibetan Hotel was a great place to stay during our June 2013 visit to Dali, and Jim, Lee, and Anna were great hosts. As a clear indication of... More
