We checked the rates in the internet and arrived at Five Elements. We arrived there and wanted to check in, but the guy at the reception told us a price more than double as written in the internet for a 4bed dorm. We told him about the lower price in the internet. He answered unfriendly that there are old prices... More

we feel so sorry that you never stay here and still give us an injustice and irresponsible review. we do not accept this.Because we don't know who you are, where you are from, have no idea who you are working for.And you really need't to register an account and make only one review to defame us on purpose for no reason.... I & my friends decided to book the hostel because of the good deal online and were very glad that we stayed at the five elements hostel. The staff from the front desk, Amy, Matt & Lyn were very helpful in every way and always fulfilled our request with a smile. We enjoyed the food prepared upon request by the... More

Five Elements Hostel really was a surprise package! After getting a great deal online for our room, we weren't expecting any luxuries, so we were continually impressed by the dedication of staff, the great amenities and the small touches that made the whole stay a great one. The staff were lovely; We arrived to a personal welcome, they were happy... More

Stayed for 3 nights, since they had a cancellation they kindly offered to upgrade our room free of charges. Breakfast is great, coffee very expensive though, considering its average quality. 2 very loving dogs, but they bark very early in the morning. Clean room, organized tour would benefit an interpreter, and remember that it's located outside the walls. The directions... More

I've visited Five Elements Hostel twice this September and enjoyed the most wonderful time. From the moment I arrived I felt warmly welcome. The staff members named Lyn, Amy and Matt were the most kind and helpful I remember to have met on my many travels and they turned into real friends after a couple of days. The atmosphere in... More

There is momo cooking class inside the hotel that costs 25 yaun, but beware that they charge for this sum eve those who just eat the ready... More

We checked out of another hostel to come here for various reasons. Five Elements is just brilliant. The staff are all fluent English speakers and are very friendly. It's a 5 minutes walk from the main road in Dali's old town. The rooms are clean, very spacious and incredible value for money - we stayed in a double bed ensuite... More

If I come back to Dali for sure I will stay again in Five Elements! The staff is great, they will help you with everything you need always offering the best solution. Is located 10 minutes away from the center of old village and that is nice because is super quiet and everything is very close.

I stayed at 5 elements and stayed 2 extra days in Dali. Staying outside of the city wall is better than staying inside the walls where it is ALWAYS crowded. I really liked Dali but the staff at 5 elements made the internet VERY easy to use. As a someone who uses things like FB it was great to be... More

Pros: -A nice place that is removed from the torrent of tourists in the old town. -The staff had great English skills -Room was clean, spacious and well decorated. Cons: -The staff accused us of having fake money! It was the most ridiculous, infuriating and insulting thing I have ever tried in my life. A 100 RMB bank note that... More
