I believe that Wal-mart is part of the hotel. The breakfast is not so good, but the rooms are nice and it has an excellent view of the city and lake. Though I would recommend you have the staff nearby in case some of the things in your bedroom don't work (TV for example).

Big room with excellent view, which can see the beautiful Erhal Lake & Mt. Cangshan. The hotel provide airport shuttle bus service & the staff very helpful when I called to confirmed airport pick up time. Hotel located in the center of the city, there is Walmart on1st floor of the hotel . The breakfast just so so, but dinner... More

This hotel is also known as Hai Wan International Hotel Dali, in Chinese. We stayed one night here and were given interconnecting rooms. The condition of the rooms were not good - broken telephone, loose hooks, erratic shower with water that is burning hot one minute and icy cold the next. The toiletries provided are similar to what you would... More

I have never seen a hotel room with less furniture than this. We have 2 beds, a TV, no cabinets next to the bed or below the TV. Amazing! It seems like they run out of money to pay for furnishings. The rooms need to be updated. Breakfast is bad. Food quality is poor. I would not recommend this hotel.

If you come to explore a similar town like the famous Li JIang and would like to stay in it, then you have to choose another hotel. This one is not located in the old town of Dali but in Xia Guan which I think is the new town. I stayed in the executive floor for three nights and it... More

I really have questions about the person writing the one star review ?? As for my visit, the hotel was one of the best in China. The employees were very helpful and displayed good use of English. The room was large, clean and had a view that can only be was only be described as picturesque. (I stayed on 22nd... More

I'm floored by the one star reviews for this hotel, and the only thing I can think is that those people were expecting it to be in the Old Town. This is a corporate-business class hotel in the Xiguan, or Dali City, ten miles from the walled city, just a few blocks from the bus station. It is beautiful, clean,... More

Cons: -Location is terrible - it is very far from the Dali old town and the taxis hailed by hotel staff charge more than normal -Breakfast is really bad - the actual food, the service, and the atmosphere. The hordes of Mainland tourists who behave like animals at the food stations make the food even less appetizing. -General state of... More
