This is one of the nicest Doubletree hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, the breakfast buffet is incredible, along with great service, and the rooms are very quiet and very clean and up to date.

The last 3 times we've visited this hotel we've requested a 2 rm suite, HC accessible King Bed with roll in shower. Twice we called in advance to confirm room request and were told our requested room was available only to get to the hotel and had a smaller room with tub. We're both handicapped and hard to use a tub. We're due to check in Thursday night and, again, requested room was not reserved... this will be our last time at this hotel.

This is a nice hotel. The lobby is modern and the bar is pretty cool. The surrounding area is also loaded with great restaurants on either side of the freeway. My room was decent size and well furnished. It seems as if the rooms were renovated not too long ago. The bed was plush and comfortable and the Samsung TV is about as large and nice as you’ll find in any hotel. The staff isn’t overly friendly, but they are professional, and let’s face it, I’m not coming to a hotel to make friends. My only knock, and there’s not much the hotel can do about it at this point, is that the bathroom at least in my room was tiny. I’m talking when you push in the door to enter, it clears the toilet bowl by like an inch, maybe two tops. It feels like a phone booth in the bathroom. It’s okay for a 1-2 night stay, but if I was staying for a week, I’d probably look elsewhere to stay.

When we arrived the lobby was packed with people and only a few were wearing masks, despite it being required in the county and, per signs, the hotel. There was ZERO enforcement by staff as staff were either not wearing masks or not wearing them properly (nose exposed). Our room size was not available as they were overbooked. The room we got was NOT cleaned. There was an overwhelming amount of body hair all over the bathroom, the shower floor was slimy with hair all over. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff, I was told that since I had already cleaned the bathroom myself they would check to see if the rest of the room was cleaned. The arrival night was comped which was a nice gesture. There were NO TOWELS! Staff made a list for those in need of towels but by morning our family of 4 still had no towels and had to share one between us. The shower drain was backed up and after a 5 minute shower, the whole bottom of shower was covering my feet. It took 30 minutes to fully drain. We booked here as opposed to a hotel where we needed to be (Trussville) due to the pool availability. However, we could not use safely because it was packed with people (over 20). When front desk staff was notified, they called someone to clear the pool and said that the week prior 50 people had been in it and they had to close it for 3 days. We had planned to stay 2 nights but cancelled the next next night due to the horrible experience.

If masks are required, this should be enforced. During these pandemic times, there should be extra precautions cleaning but this was not the issue in this hotel. We were surprised that a hotel could be booked to capacity and if they are not able to keep up with this safely, they should limit the amount of rooms they have available. Our travel here was necessary but we will be self quarantining after our stay at this hotel due to the necessary safeguards not being in place.

The room was clean. The lobby was clean. The lobby had a nice seating area where we could sit and chat (was in AL with our soccer club). They had a pretty full hotels and not enough staff working the bar and food service.
Asked for a late check out, was denied even with gold status (supposed to be a perk). They had a "market made breakfast" for the kids. It was garbage. A water bottle, apple, granola bar and small muffin. (We have a team of 17-18 year old boys, we had to get a real breakfast). They offered hot breakfast for $15 per person, not worth it. The club reserves these blocks with the promise of some type of breakfast. Their brown bags suffice, but it's not ok.

Our friend's room smelled like pot, they brought an air purifier in and wouldn't move her (the whole floor smelled like it). She called me to come check it out and was their when maintenance came. They say there is a fee for smoking in rooms, but don't enforce anything and don't react to it when reported. They didn't even notate it in the system for her. Not the level of Hilton service I expect.

It was convenient to the highway and restaurants. For one night, it's fine, but we have other choices and this one will be last next time we need to travel to the area.

Please be aware that there’s no housekeeping during your stay. You must get clean linen from the front desk and put your trash outside of your room. This was not told to me at check-in. The hotel is close to restaurants and my work location.

I had looked forward to staying at this particular hotel again. This time, it was a real disappointment! The shower floor was disgusting, there were no signs posted anywhere about breakfast times (e.g. the elevator, the lobby.) The failure on my part was assuming that the room service that was posted on the website would bring up breakfast…there’s no room service. I had to leave the hotel to get breakfast and when I asked the front desk about extending my checkout by an hour because of this, I was immediately told, “No.” It was only after I let Faye know how unhappy I was with my stay that she decided to check with housekeeping to see if it would be OK. After 10 minutes of this, they finally approved my 1PM check out. When I went downstairs to get a copy of my receipt, I disrupted Faye from her online course that she was taking. She was pleasant, but I was not a priority. She told me that the reason the bathrooms were “dirty” is because they were using an acid wash to strip away stuff and sometimes it leaves stains behind. I explained to her that I had used acid wash just a few months ago on my bathroom grout, but what this needed was bleach. It was only when I produced pictures that Faye looked alarmed. She apologized for my stay and the condition of my bathroom (room 226.)

When I first arrived at the hotel and checked into my suite, I noticed that it wasn’t a microwave in my room. I went downstairs to go talk to concierge to get some understanding about why it was in a microwave in the room when I clearly checked to make sure that each room had a refrigerator and microwave. He insured me that the room was supposed to have a microwave which I already knew it in because out I’ve been in there. After a minute they went and found me a microwave and brought it to my room when the maintenance guy open the microwave the microwave was filthy and it had some old food in it. The maintenance clean the microwave out but first of all he should’ve had to go get a microwave when it was already supposed to be a microwave in the room. Secondly the toilet and the Bath room kept running all evening and all night long. we could never stop it from running and it wasn’t anything stuck in the toilet it just kept running and it was running very loudly. Third in the bedroom they were only three pillows on the bed not four. And the pillows that were on the bed were flat like pancakes, they were not comfortable at all. Last when my children went down to get breakfast that morning the lady at the front desk said that we did not have breakfast included in our reservation. And I told her that we do have breakfast included with our reservation. She had a nasty attitude and made my husband leave the food right there and my six-year-old daughter walked away crying because she was hungry. I had to come back downstairs show her my confirmation where it clearly states breakfast included in my confirmation. Then she was nice and told me my food was sitting right there and I can take it back upstairs but at this time my food is cold so when you found out that she was wrong about the reservation you should have allowed me to go in there and get some fresh hot food but that was not the case. I will never book at Doubletree ever ever ever again that’s not how you do business and I was very very upset.

I always stay at this hotel due to the location. Upon arrival check was pretty smooth and I was greeted by the manager. He was very polite and checkin was swift. I arrived at my room and wanted to take a shower due to traveling all day long. There were not enough towels in the room for 1 person to take a shower. At that time I contacted the front desk and advised that there were only dry off towels in the room. I was advised that I could come down to pick them up. I do not think that I am more than anyone I just feel that I paid a fee to stay in a room with items needed to stay for one night

My husband and I travelled to Birmingham, AL during Thanksgiving and stayed 4 nights at the Doubletree Birmingham Perimeter.

So wonderful seeing a majority of the same staff from last trip (April 2022) .. Thanks Sheena, Tez and Nicole for taking such great care of us.

Breakfast was wonderful. Jen, it was great seeing you again too. They offer a fabulous buffet, which is $17 per person. Being a HH Diamond Member, we are offered $15 person, so it is such a great deal. Fabulous scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, bagels, toast, Danish, etc., etc. They serve Starbucks coffee, which is so delicious!

The king bed corner room was great with a very comfortable bed, great pillows, hot shower, bathroom vanity mirror, etc.

Ample free parking and easy access to freeways … walking distance to many restaurants and shopping.

A real treat are the complimentary chocolate chip cookies they give you upon checking in.

Highly recommend this property!
