I could'nt have asked for a better place to stay.We had a weekend stopover in Birmingham due to my husband becoming sick on the way back from our Florida vacation trip and having to be checked into the hospital for a couple of days. The hotel staff were so kind to us,giving my children and I cookies when we checked in... more

I was at the hotel for our mustangs across america tour. The people are very friendly, but my four favorites are Ann, Lashundra, Kiantka at the front desk and Ben in room service. They are very alert at what is going on at the hotel and can tell just about everything that goes on in the magic city. The bar... more

My girlfriend and I visited Birmingham from Atlanta to attend a charity concert at Sloss Furnaces. Everyone at the Doubletree was very friendly and helpful. In fact the service is what impressed me the most. The room was not huge, but is was clean. All of the bars and restaurants that 5 Points has to offer are only a few... more

Went to the papajohns.com This was "fan" hotel for the Rutgers Team. Had a great time, Airport shuttle was they key here no need for a cab. Internet access available in business center free of charge. Hotel is near all the "hot spots" in town. The only thing bad about this hotel is that it was a the bottom of... more

We chose this hotel for an overnight stay to see some Birmingham civil rights sites, then leave for the airport early the next morning. Hotel parking was a good price at $8.00 with in-out privileges. We toured the civil rights sites and Birmingham Art Museum. These aren't in walking distance of the hotel, but parking near these sites was very... more

This hotel was booked for us by UAB for a college visit. We were greeted with the warm cookies (and actually got more on our 3 day stay by just asking), and the staff was very helpful dealing with a booking mix-up. The beds were very comfortable, the room smelled great, the Neutrogena amenities are fun! We were on the... more

Near downtown, so it's convenient. But just an average hotel for (what I think) is a high price. My room smelled damp and musty. Not sure why. But the bed was comfortable. Great cookies upon check-in! more

The Doubletree is very close to the University of Alabama medical school, and a short drive from lovely Vulcan Park which overlooks the city. Our room was very clean and pleasant, though not large. (The overstuffed chair next to the bed was really in the way.) There are some good restaurants within walking distance; it's smart to get reservations. The... more

Stayed at this hotel on a visit to UAB. The hotel is within walking distance to the medical facilities. On arrival, we were given warm, chocolate chip cookies. The front desk staff were very friendly and speedy. The bell man was a bit chatty but very nice in helping us get our bags upstairs. Parking was really simple and with... more
