Well restored 1898 Queen Anne house in a good location. Beautiful wraparound porch, where we enjoyed drinks and talked with other guests. Owner Sheila had to come from her other B & B to let us in. Pointed out cookies on the entry table, complimentary drinks in the refrigerator. Stayed in the "Camelot" room, complete with King Arthur and Guinevere... More

This review is a mixed bag. Was in between business trips so I invited my niece to drive down and tour Birmingham with me. Stayed four nights. The good news: House is beautiful and full of amazing antiques. Location is great. Had a great time just talking and reading on the front porch. Talking to Pamela was one of the... More

If you want to stay in a museum, where the innkeeper you have to call when you arrive and she has to explain the way to access and Rules with instructions on the phone for a good half hour, this is your place. Our family ran a hotel for years and we were always there to welcome our quest . I... More

We stayed in Zebra Room on basement level so we could go out late and not disturb anyone. Private bath, quiet, separate entrance, clean, decorated more modern than the main rooms. Breakfast was great, sausage, eggs, juice, coffee, biscuits, fresh fruit. You can't beat the price for such a great location. Thanks Sheila and Ira!!! P.S. Try the Avondale Brewing... More

We arrived at the Hassinger Daniels after getting notification of an "upgrade" from the Cobb Lane property the night before only to find a note on the door for a number to call. When we called, the innkeeper seemed confused as to who we were. She arrived about 15 minutes later and gave us a tour of the facility and... More

I've never been so pissed or insulted in my life!!!! I booked a reservation at the Hassinger Daniels Mansion. I have been BURIED with work, desparately needed a tiny getaway with my wife, and called and booked a reservation a few weeks ago. I was really looking forward to our night, but now a family situation forced us to cancel.... More

I loved our night at this cute b&b. I loved the antiques and decor and felt it was like a little dolls house! Our room was very warm and cosy and pretty. The bathroom was opposite which was fine but I would have liked a lock on the door come morning time! Breakfast was family style around a big table... More

We stayed at Cobb Lane over the weekend. The bed and breakfast is truly lovely. However, due to a serious family emergency, we had to cut our trip short. Although we left before check-out, we were still charged for the next day's stay. This was a bit much, when services were not rendered for the second day, and also compounded... More

I stayed at Hassinger Daniels Mansion (camelot Room) over the weekend and was absolutely bowled over! The renovation of the old mansion was truly amazing, and to say it is beautiful in an understatement. The mansion provides everything a traveler needs (comfortable beds, flat screen TV, blow dryer, iron & ironing board, etc.) but is so much more than a... More

This large and fully restored 1898 mansion is the second B & B operated by the artist couple Ira and Sheila Chaffin. Cobb Lane was the first, and is a few blocks away from thhe mansion, and described by the owners as an upper middle class Victorian. Cobb Lane's website currently covers both properties, hence the review here. The location... More
