This aged hotel needs a refurb. We arrived in the evening & were given a buffet dinner.the complimentary drink was 'a glass half empty'.i needed to request my sheets to be changed as they were a shade of grey not white. The cracked tiles can be added to the refurb.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel as part of a group tour. Rooms were clean, well decorated and light and the breakfast was good. We enjoyed the lightness of the bathroom area and overall found the hotel comfortable for the two nights we stayed here. We enjoyed having an evening meal and the staff tried to be as helpful as... Just an overnight stay with my friends as part of our private tour of China. Normal business class hotel in good locality and close to restaurants. The twin-room we stayed is clean and comfortable. Noise level is high so choose room on high floors. Clean bathroom with good shower. An acceptable spread of Western and Asian breakfast but it is... More

So many hotels in China look grand from the outside but fail to live up to the promise inside This one has a grand spacious foyer, revolving restaurant on 25 floor etc but you don't even need to scratch below the surface to find its all show The buffet restaurant advertises as serving diner until 23.00 but the night I... I have stayed at this hotel 6 years ago at the same time for the Peony festival. With a group of 24 friends, it is extremely difficult to get Christian's (our first choice) and even at this hotel Booking.com couldn't quote more than 2 rooms so we got help through our guide Lisa to negotiate with the hotel for the... Stayed only one night in this Hotel in September and the experience was not very good. Double bed room was very ordinary. There were many varieties in breakfast but once finished, the next guest will not get that item. Desert was finished, it was informed to the Chef , he did not care at all. Attitude was bad of the... This hotel is absolutely crappy. No one speaks English, so it is impossible to communicate and the staff at the reception is surly and avoids eye contact. The room was dirty, the bathtub had a rim of brown dirt all along the border, the shower curtain had a filthy brown border. This is the only hotel throughout our visit in... More

The Peony Hotel in Luoyang was like a slice of America. Our safe would not work as it had no batteries in it. We struggled with language problems for about half an hour to get 4 new batteries to fit into it and then to get the Chinese maintenance lady to fit them right way round. The manager agreed a... Good central location - good sized rooms and breakfast was above average for China. Staff very helpful and very easy check-in and check out. I would stay here again if I was travelling to Luoyang. Good choice of restaurants nearby.

There is a cafe in the foyer which has a sign outside saying coffee, but asked for coffee and was met with a blank look and a firm no. Had to settle for a beer which was twice the price we had paid in the restaurant 10 minutes earlier. Dinner was good, the breakfast room was massive and had a... More
